Fairy tales represent real life events in a symbolic form: the ups and downs that are present in the life of every person, and most importantly, tips on how to cope with them. Listening to a fairy tale or watching a film, a child becomes imbued with the fate of a certain character who is similar to him and, as it were, tries on his life for himself. In an adult, you can always see parallels between his life and the life of his favorite character. Today I invite those women who are close to the fairy tale “Thumbelina” to analyze their own lives. Perhaps you will recognize yourself in her story. Thumbelina was born through the “immaculate conception,” since not a single word is said about her father in the fairy tale. The mythical seed planted by the mother indirectly reminds that the man, it seems, could not have done without it, but that’s where his role ended. A man as a supplier of seed, thanks to which children are born. The flower is a well-known symbol of the female genital organs. And the fact that Thumbelina is born from a flower belonging to a real woman leaves no doubt that she has a real mother, who independently gave birth to her “for herself.” According to Scandinavian legends, once upon a time, in ancient times, there was a method of immaculate conception, in which sperm was injected into a woman without damaging the hymen. During pregnancy, these women wore clothes with a lotus design. In many illustrations of the fairy tale, you can see Thumbelina sitting on a lotus. And the tulip, mentioned in the fairy tale by H.H. Andersen, in Denmark is an analogue of the southern lotus. A woman who gave birth to a daughter without the participation of a man, how does she relate to men? For sex? The questions are, in general, rhetorical, and the answer is beyond doubt. Thumbelina became a hostage to her mother's disappointment in men, an entertainment for her mother living alone, she never saw how a Woman behaves with a Man. This is probably why Thumbelina ended up in relationships with representatives of the animal world, who are traditionally perceived by most people as unattractive. These are a frog, a beetle and a mole. Metaphorically, they reflect Thumbelina's idea of men who "are vile animals." The fairytale Thumbelina is most often in the state of a little girl. All her life she strives to feel wanted in the world, but they feel their own “smallness”, insignificance. She does not have a feeling of “protected back” from her parents. Thumbelina feels like a victim of circumstances and submits to chance. All her life she needs a strong partner who will take responsibility for the financial support of the family and for herself. Symbolically, she is looking for a caring father in men, lost even before her birth, and finds only their “animal side”, because she has an idea only of these characteristics of men. Only her mother told her about this, because she herself noticed only this. As a rule, Thumbelina understands that she needs to grow up, but the state of “smallness” is so convenient and familiar, not only to her, but also to the people around her. Thumbelina never knows exactly what she wants and lives according to the will of circumstances. But she is always dissatisfied with what she has at the moment. “What I want, I don’t know; what I have, I don’t value” is Thumbelina’s motto. Instead of finding herself, she spends her whole life looking for the Elf - a version of the Prince torn from the earth. And this is also a contradiction characteristic of Thumbelina. She is not one of those women who is content with little. Along with fantasizing and “having her head in the clouds,” Thumbelina greatly values stability, well-being, and social success. She needs ground under her feet. Thumbelina's path is the path to herself, the development of feminine qualities and the ability to choose the right life partner. While Thumbelina is in fantasy, she will be chosen by men who do not care about her desires and needs. These are men devoted to their mothers - “mama's boys”, in the fairy tale such men are represented by the Little Frog; friends - Beetle; money, status - Mole. Anyway,.
