Chemical dependence (alcoholism, drug addiction, taxi addiction....) This is a disease. Yes, you heard right! This is not a harmful bad habit, not temporary insanity, and certainly not a way to relax! The disease is primary, progressive or rapidly developing , incurable and unfortunately fatal! And now, in order...Primary - simply put, it is passed on from generation to generation. You ask: “how is this so?” I answer: “babies are born with a deliberately low level of endorphins in the blood (there are even tests that can measure it in the womb), and it is low because his direct or through-the-knee relatives did the baby a disservice by relying on alcohol or something stronger for most of their lives, thereby teaching their body at the genetic level not to produce the required amount of endorphins and other substances, receiving them in large quantities from the outside.” Then it’s simpler... Progressive! In other words, all those who inject heroin (or no matter what), at the end of their short and not bright life, will remember what they started it’s from beer or weed... An alcoholic who can’t get up without a hangover will say that he started drinking exclusively elite drinks on Fridays after work... But it’s not curable, since there is no pill for it. Just like people with diabetes monitor and maintain their blood sugar levels, those who recover from chemical dependency also maintain their remission, but not with medication (more on that in the next story) And yes, the disease is fatal...Needless to say about overdoses, strokes, heart attacks, gangrene, suicide due to abstinence, a bunch of other concomitant diseases, etc..... Are there still any doubts that this is not a disease??? Even if there are, I will say that WHO ( The WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION) relatively recently recognized that addiction is a disease and assigned it the symbolic number 303, placing it in the universal register of diseases! And yes, in terms of mortality, this disease is surpassed only by oncology...
