For those who want to break out of the sticky embrace of pessimism and increase their degree of self-esteem, I suggest adopt the following simple exercise “A word of praise for yourself”: For 10 minutes, with your eyes closed, remember your life. Start with your earliest childhood memories. Remember every achievement, every merit, every accomplished deed that you could be proud of. Refuse to make any modest comments that reduce your dignity. Pay special attention to those events that, without your participation, took a different turn. For example, you spoke at a meeting and defended your work or study friend. Don’t forget actions that may seem easy to someone, but were difficult for you. In general, don’t forget: “You can’t praise yourself, no one will praise you.”».
