Good day, colleagues. I would like to share my own experience in working with children using play therapy and self-made toys. It is always very interesting and informative to watch children while they play, especially when they are as enthusiastic as possible. Children play with everything and everyone, different objects may not be for the child what they really are. And at some point, I wondered what if I had such a toy that looked like nothing else. After rummaging through the World Wide Web, I found it and was very pleased. My husband (he is a carpenter) and I drew, made (cut out of beech), painted (acrylic paints - Peter) two toys - one shell, which consists of 22 cubes, and a “four elements” construction set, which consists of 21 elements, and brought them to the children to a social shelter (I work there) the effect was amazing!!! Toys that do not have a clear purpose and subject definition open the way for children to the world of fantasy, giving the psychologist the opportunity to come into contact with the inner world of the child. The toys that we have made belong to Waldorf pedagogy. It should be noted that Waldorfs do not accept plastic, electronic or mechanical toys. Preference is given to simplified toys made exclusively from natural materials. Toys made of wood have a number of advantages: they are quite pleasant to the touch, but their most important advantage is the absence of any negative impact on health, both physical and mental. And this is exactly what became very important for me. We are now developing a series of new toys that would comply with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and would allow us to work with children in a psychological office.
