Our northern summer is so fleeting. Literally, the first May leaves have just appeared on the trees, and once... the countdown of days has already begun until the first of September - a day that tells both children and adults one thing - the holidays are over and we must start studying again. Yes, of course, during the summer months, children have time to relax and gain strength for the new school year. But is it so easy for them to start intensive training again after such a long break? Is it possible to help them adapt to everyday school life? Even adults experience stress when they go back to work after vacation, but for children this transition from a relaxing vacation to school is more difficult. And the adaptation period lasts not just a few days, but most often a month or even two. The reason is that the daily routine during the holidays and during the educational process are radically different - getting up, eating, walking, going to bed - everything is disrupted. The speed and painlessness of a child’s adaptation to school everyday life depends on us, parents. It is better to start adapting to the new regime 2-3 weeks before September 1st. It is necessary to put the child to bed and wake him up at the same time every day (regardless of a weekend or a weekday). This will help normalize your daily routine. A prerequisite for a child to have an interest in learning is long and healthy sleep. Not all schoolchildren can quickly switch from rest mode to study mode. Therefore, also 2-3 weeks before the start of school, you need to gradually begin to repeat the completed program. Especially places that caused difficulties. If the gaps in knowledge are large, it makes sense to think about a tutor and correct the missing knowledge so as not to worsen the gap in the new school year. This is much easier to do in the summer. In addition to schoolwork itself, most of the time is spent on homework. Help your child, equip him with a convenient and comfortable place to study, make sure he takes breaks between subjects and does what he loves. But it is advisable to protect him from playing on a smartphone, because... this does not contribute to the rest of the brain, but rather the opposite - it causes unnecessary stress. Start writing short dictations with your child to restore writing skills and train their memory. Choose some fun and interesting texts for this. Be sure to buy school supplies with your child. And not only those where his presence is necessary for fitting - a uniform, a briefcase, shoes. Involve him in choosing notebooks and stationery. This will help him get into the academic frame of mind. It is better to shift classes in additional sections and clubs a little - by 2-3 weeks from the beginning of the school year, so that the child does not immediately find it too difficult. Make it mandatory to rest after school for 1-1.5 hours, and also a walk. Try to have the child do his homework during the day, and not in the evening before bed. In the first weeks of the school year, do not be too strict with the grades in the diary. Be interested, first of all, in what was interesting during the day at school, what you liked. Knowledge Day is a great reason to have a small holiday, go to the movies, attractions, cafes, eat plenty of sweets, take joint photos for the family album. Let the child feel that this is not an ordinary day, but a solemn and festive one. In a word, dedicate this day to the child. Let the positive motivation of this day give your child support and allow him to gain a charge of interest in school activities for a long time..
