This summer my friends and I vacationed on the shore of a forest lake. The holiday turned out to be a success. The most beautiful places in Khakassia delighted the soul and body. We swam a lot, sang funny student songs around the fire, and ate delicious aromatic kebabs. But, as usual, all good things come to an end very quickly and a week of carefree relaxation has passed unnoticed. Our husbands began to get ready for the return journey, called the journey home, and we women really didn’t want to leave such beauty, especially since our vacation was just beginning. Having discussed the idea with the men: to continue the rest and, having received a positive result from our other halves, my friend and I stayed for several days to live in a tent on the shore of a picturesque forest lake. Our husbands went home, and we safely enjoyed the virginity of the surrounding nature. On a bright day, we, like children, frolicked on the green lawn, climbed white-trunked birches and jumped from a dizzying bungee into the blue waters of the lake. We swam hard and sunbathed under the hot July sun. Evening came unnoticed. Freshness and forest coolness came from the lake. Without thinking twice, my friend and I built a large “pioneer” fire, sat comfortably in chairs near the fire and enjoyed drinking tea with milk, fragrant from the whitehead, as in childhood, devouring rosy buns with poppy seeds on both cheeks. Oh, how wonderfully we spent this day! How many positive emotions we received from nature. And when it became completely dark, exhausted from physical and emotional overload, but with a sense of accomplishment, we went to sleep in the tent. Climbing slowly into our sleeping bags, after a “hard, hard” day, we prepared to watch magical dreams. Suddenly, something sharply creaked, clanged and fell with all its might next to the tent. My friend screamed in fear so much that the eardrums in her ears almost burst. Painfully clutching my shoulder with her hands, not understanding anything from fear, she howled in my ear for several minutes. Involuntarily, I had to bring my friend to her senses. Pinching her cheek painfully, I turned on the flashlight and sent a beam of light straight into her eyes. My friend’s face, distorted by unknown fear, seemed unfamiliar to me. “How much fear can disfigure a person...” I thought. Her whole body was shaking, and her eyes expressed animal fear. For a brief moment I felt sorry for this woman. Throwing away the destructive pity, I turned the flashlight off and on three times. Little by little my friend began to come to her senses. While in the tent, sitting in a sleeping bag, whining softly, she absolutely refused to sleep. After an hour of calming conversations, I managed to drag my friend outside the tent to see what could scare her so much. It turned out everything was banally simple. Gusts of wind dropped her chair, which stood two meters from the tent. And in the silence of the night, when our thinking is narrowed to the confines of the tent, the brain distorts the real world beyond recognition. He draws in his head terrible monsters and beasts, always attacking and tearing human flesh into pieces, splashing blood. Distorted consciousness persistently forms extreme, uncontrollable fear, which destroys human psychosomatics at the cellular levels. A friend told me this creepy picture this morning. With the sunrise, the entire space around us again lit up with the multi-colored colors of the natural palette. The dew on the grass and leaves of the trees glowed like diamonds. The scarlet dawn gladdened the heart. The morning coolness excited the naked body, filling it with a thirst for life. I wanted to jump, run, swim, laugh and simply enjoy life. My friend somehow crawled out of the tent. The beauty of nature did not please her. Exhausted by her imaginary fear, she was lethargic and boring. Wrapped in a warm robe, she sat silently in the ill-fated chair that had frightened her so much that night and drank her morning coffee. That night she experienced a great emotional shock. Half of the wonderful day was spent restoring my mental and physical strength..
