When the obedient girl Nina graduated from school, all her relatives came out to see her off to life. Nina dreamed of getting to the city of her Happy Life. Kind relatives said that they would help her get ready for the journey and provide her with everything that helped them survive in their village of Koekaka. Grandfather gave a map of the Arctic, where the trails of polar bears were marked, grandmother gave a bag of buckwheat and a three-liter jar of compote, aunt gave her stilettos, 2 sizes larger, dad gave a hat with earflaps from the predatory animal Tsigeika, mom gave her dress with a skirt in floor. “You won’t get lost with such luggage,” the relatives said. - Not like your classmates. They won’t get there in sneakers, jeans or with a backpack. Take our luggage - it will help you. The relatives cried, and Nina set off. The path went through the desert along a wide cobblestone road. All the people walked along this road. But Nina understood that everything was not so simple and, with the help of her grandfather’s map, she took a winding path, straight along the sand, to avoid meeting polar bears. It was difficult to walk. High heels sank in the sand, long skirt caught on thorns, sweat poured from under the hat. The compote was sickly sweet, and the bag of buckwheat just got in the way. For a long time, tormented by the heat and sand, Nina was completely exhausted. She lay and cried, feeling worthless and thinking that she would have to return to the remote village of Koekaka and endure ridicule. She stood up, looked around and saw a small green oasis that smelled of flowers and fruits. A cool waterfall gurgled in the middle. Nina jumped into the waterfall along with all her equipment. And the waterfall washed away the dirt and fatigue from her, the wounds and bruises began to heal. Nina seemed to be reborn. She felt light and free. And then she noticed that her grandfather’s map had become wet, her shoes had been carried away by the water, her earflap hat had been stolen by birds for a nest, the hem of her dress had come off, and the buckwheat had been eaten by mice. And Nina was afraid that now she would have to act on her own. But the waterfall rumbled: “Believe in yourself.” Nina believed. To the waterfall and to myself. She picked up some fruit and went out onto the road, where she exchanged it for jeans and sneakers with passing merchants. I learned from local residents that there are no polar bears here. And that everyone goes to the city along the road or by minibus. Nina returned to the waterfall. She realized that if it weren’t for him, she would still be carrying the burden of unnecessary family gifts and complicating her life. She filled a coconut flask with clean water and bowed to the waterfall. “Thank you for meeting me,” Nina said. - Thank you for freeing me from ancestral gifts. Thank you for letting me believe in myself. You must be magical, since I have changed so much. If it’s difficult for me, I’ll come to you again.” And the splashes of water answered her: “Come!” Nina cheerfully ran to the minibus. A shaggy beaver approached the waterfall: “They called you magical again?” “Yeah,” the waterfall grinned. - Although I have already hung up the sign, no one reads it. And he splashed towards the inscription “Waterfall of psychological reboot. Liberation from generic scripts". This is the kind of fairy tale about parental instructions and attitudes. Of course, our parents sincerely believed that this would help us in life. But since life is a dynamic structure, and people are all different, often what our parents advised us cannot be squeezed into our lives. They convey to us their experience, their fears, their ways of achieving goals. And they don’t think that we have our own goals and our own experience.
