It would seem that this is not the first year that our children have been taking the OGE and the Unified State Exam, or, more simply, final exams. However, the topic does not lose its relevance; the number of suicides committed by teenagers before and after exams does not decrease. Teachers are subject to strict requirements for preparing for exams, and everyone, as they say, is simply afraid for their subject and the results of their work. In some ways this is, of course, good. But information pressure, pedagogical intimidation (as one of the most frequently used methods by teachers to motivate graduates to prepare), testing in non-standard conditions many times increases the already considerable psychological load on children, associated both with the preparation period and directly with the moment passing the exam itself. It must be said that not only children, but also parents are worried. Often, a child’s final exam becomes a test for the whole family. All this time, students are psychologically and physically in a state of stress, which can lead to changes in the course of mental processes, emotional shifts, transformation of the motivational structure of activity, disorders of motor and speech behavior, which may not affect only on the results of passing the exam. That is why so much attention is paid to psychological preparation. In the current circumstances, mental preparation is as important as subject preparation. It is necessary not only to give children knowledge, but also to teach them the ability to show and apply this knowledge, overcoming certain barriers. Life should not end with an exam, and as one of my graduates said: “an exam is like training and an inoculation for further life tests.” Nowadays the Internet is simply replete with recommendations for preparing for exams, various developments by psychologists, topics for parent meetings aimed at providing psychological assistance to students when preparing for and passing the final exam. However, the best psychological preparation is the support and understanding of parents. But if this is not enough, then the child should undergo psychological training in preparation for exams, where the graduate will be able to: - become familiar with the exam procedure and form an adequately realistic opinion about it; - develop a mindset for successfully passing the exam; - learn to control oneself; - motivate independently yourself to prepare for exams; - master relaxation methods and relieve emotional and physical stress; - formulate constructive strategies for exam activities. As a rule, after the winter holidays, graduates become fully aware of the seriousness of the upcoming tests. Most students experience increased anxiety at this time, which affects the quality of preparation for exams. This is the period when psychological training is actively conducted in schools. Full-fledged training to prepare students for exams is carried out in many psychological centers, where parents themselves can receive professional advice from a psychologist on competent support for their children. The one who walks can master the road.
