In connection with the recent blocking of Instagram by Roskomnadzor in the Russian Federation, most people are indignant, because some people simply liked to post photos and funny videos with cats, while others built entire projects and their own business , had a main or additional income on this site. Some people managed to easily cope with the loss and move on with their lives, while others still cannot come to their senses and believe, admit that this is truly an objective reality. People began to experience withdrawal ( as in drug and alcohol addiction), and psychosis, and loss (as in the death of a loved one), which contributes to a disorder in the perception of the real world and disorganization of behavior. What leads to such conditions? Systematic withdrawal into the world of fantasy from real life leads to temporary relief. This effect is comparable to the effect of drugs. After all, in that idealized virtual world you can create yourself anew and exactly the way you want to see yourself. There it is easy to attract attention and find someone to communicate with, someone to follow. But in the current situation, people have been sharply cut off access to “oxygen”, which led to withdrawal symptoms (withdrawal syndrome). The following symptoms appear: Loss of interest in the immediate environment. Increased emotional tension. Apathy, irritability, anger, aggression develop. How to provide self-help for grief, loss and withdrawal? Listen to yourself and recognize your anxiety and fear, if they exist in relation to the problem situation. Analyze the situation. Understand what exactly you are afraid of and determine what will happen if it happens, how you will feel and what you can do. Determine what you can do to prevent negative consequences right now? If nothing can be done and you are really faced with the inevitable , then at this stage it is important to understand what is so valuable that you have now that will help you cope with the situation. Concentrate on this. Strive to be aware and hear your thoughts, because emotions arise from them, and they, in turn, determine behavior. Try to determine which of the 5 stages of accepting the inevitable you are at. Ask yourself the following questions in relation to your thoughts: What are evidence that your thought is correct or incorrect? What alternative explanation can be given for this? What is the best thing that can happen? What about the bad? Which development option is realistic? What would you advise your friend if he found himself in a similar situation? Thanks to these self-help points, you can realize that you can control your psychological state and the situation itself by changing your attitude towards it.* Instagram is owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia.
