Depression is a word that we can hear very often in today's world. Experts say that, indeed, there are more and more people suffering from it. Very often you can also hear that, having developed, it can pose a threat not only to the emotional state of a person, when he is depressed and has lost interest in life and cannot experience pleasure, but is also a physical threat, since, according to WHO, it is one of the most common causes of suicide attempts in the world. That is why it is so important to pay attention to the timely treatment of depression. The problem with timely contact with a specialist is that the person himself, when suffering, does not always realize that he needs help. In these cases, the attentive attitude of others towards their loved ones is very important. A person who is depressed, as a rule, may have more erased emotions, in comparison with his usual state, and is little able to rejoice (according to science, this condition is called anhedonia, that is, the inability to take pleasure from those things that made him happy before), laughs less often, cries more often. Other signs of depression include: loss of interest in previous hobbies, work, and even usual household chores and responsibilities. This is why it becomes difficult to fulfill one’s professional duties and care for children. Reduced motor activity (lethargy, feeling constantly tired), sleep disturbances (difficulty falling asleep, insomnia, early awakenings closer to the morning with further inability to fall asleep), as a result of which a person feels especially bad yourself in the morning, and towards the evening activity may become normal, the desire to communicate with others (friends, relatives) decreases, as taciturnity and silence increase, the person may become unbalanced and begin to respond rudely. If these symptoms of depression become noticeable in someone close to you or in you personally, you should seek help, since, unfortunately, self-healing is unlikely. Treatment of depression is possible, and the sooner it begins, the more favorable and rapid the result will be. Psychotherapists and psychologists involved in the treatment of depression are increasingly noting that this condition does not escape children. Depression in a child, like in adults, can have different causes, but it also requires the help of a specialist. Depression in children can be disguised as laziness and lack of interest in studying or communicating with peers, reluctance to go to school and empty, aimless pastime. There are different methods of treating depression and the leading among them are various types of antidepressants (the selection cannot be done independently), and Psychotherapy should also be mandatory. It will help determine the source of the disorder and alleviate the severity of the condition. In addition, psychotherapy is a method that qualitatively helps to avoid relapses of depressive disorders in the future..
