“I used to have no doubt that the faster I did everything, the more I would accomplish and the better and more meaningful my life would be” - E. SeichezMany people consider themselves not independent enough , organized, disciplined and efficient. They blame themselves for not being able to concentrate, relax, make the right choice, raise children... This is self-blame for their own inadequacy. But this is not the cause of the problem - the question was simply posed incorrectly from the very beginning. Instead of - “what’s wrong with me?” you need to ask - “what is wrong with this state of affairs?” If you look at what is happening more broadly, then behind the feeling of subjective dissatisfaction and powerlessness there are factors of a different order. The irony is that despite technological progress, we have less and less time to be with ourselves. Things that previously took hours now take minutes, and we spend this saved time not on ourselves, our world, but on a million other minute things. And by organizing time “more efficiently,” we simply make room in it for one more thing in our overloaded life. And the feelings with which the article begins – that we need to do more than we are able to do – are not about the area of personal imperfection. It is important to pay attention to yourself, to what everyone has behind the superficial bustle of everyday affairs (“what is going on inside me?”) Do everything as well as you can - what is this phrase about? “As well as you can” means , observing the measure. If you do too much, you can get tired and reduce your effectiveness. If you don't do enough, you can feel guilty and dissatisfied with yourself. If the bar of requirements for yourself is set too low, then you can experience apathy. And when it is too high, you feel anxious. But how to do exactly as much as needed? There is no other norm other than the one we feel ourselves. And this attunement to oneself is a daily thing. When we like what we do, when we understand the necessity of what we do, we feel balance in life. And in this state we work to the maximum of our capabilities. “As good as you can” means understanding the limitations. This is doing everything as well as possible in a particular situation. At the same time, we must take into account the resources that we own and be prepared to both compromise and accept help. “As good as you can” means with respect for yourself and your uniqueness (and not the desire for an ideal or constant self-improvement). This is your own active involvement in your life, this is the creation around yourself of an environment that meets your needs, this is the formation of your own circle of like-minded people. This is when your actions correspond to your ideals and aspirations. It is the embodiment of those values that make you respect. What are you willing to do, within your capabilities, to get one step closer to the life values and goals that are dear to your heart? “As good as you can” means providing self-support: We either win or we learn. There are always opportunities in life. And they end only when we stop using them. Be in tune with others, accept your uniqueness and the otherness of others. The way we live our days is how we live our lives (A. Dilar) Do everything as well as you can!
