Our life is beautiful. I am convinced that it is given to us to understand ourselves, the world around us, discover our talents, implement plans, and understand the entire spectrum of feelings and emotions. This becomes extremely difficult to do when a person becomes a participant in the so-called “rat race” in pursuit of financial and career components . Turns into a workaholic, which was discussed in the previous article: Is workaholism a disease? This Rat works without rest and joy, dreaming of a completely different life, which is postponed and postponed. What if it’s possible in a completely different way? With those who have similar problems, or who feel that their rhythm is about to turn into that same run, I hasten to share my recipe on how to get out of the vicious circle and start living. 1️⃣ Implementation of practice: one day a week only for rest. Here we are working on establishing a balance between “tension and relaxation”; the body needs a reboot and emotional detox. The main thing to remember is that you should take a break from everything, not only from work, but also from cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping - only your time! Next, work with prejudices, such and similar attitudes must be changed to the opposite and rooted in consciousness. “If I rest, then everything disappears, everything is lost, everything collapses.” “How much would I do if I didn’t watch movies, didn’t walk, didn’t sleep like that?” a lot... ah" "It's a shame to be lazy" We change everything to "I'm great, the work is done well, I have the right to rest, everything is and will be fine"! A healthy level of “sloppiness” is needed. The next stage is the introduction of compulsory vacation, preferably with a change of scenery. This is very difficult for workaholics; such people hoard days off until the personnel department itself forces them to take them. This is how they manage to sit in their work email all this time. It’s hard, but very important to allow yourself weekly breaks. 2️⃣ Introduction of delegation in those areas and for those tasks where this is possible. Here we work with hypercontrol, anxiety and perfectionism. Workaholics, as a rule, do everything themselves and do not trust the process to anyone, because there is a fear of competition and leakage of their unique knowledge and experience. But every person has a limit, with time comes fatigue and burnout. Awareness of the problems in this area has already begun the path to success. And there is only one way, to work with your fear, to start entrusting certain tasks to junior colleagues and specialists, for example, cleaning the house. Implement gradually and enjoy your time. 3️⃣ Getting to know yourself. People who spend all their time at work distort their perception of life. For example, my experience in consulting: the year was perceived through the prism of the projects on which I was assigned. Not spring, summer, winter, but LLC No. 1, LLC No. 2. Or, for example, according to the deadlines for submitting reports. The absurdity of what was happening became visible only when I began to leave this circle. What awaits outside the circle? There is only you and your reality, and you have to get acquainted with it. At first, there may be such an effect that you don’t even know what to do, there is time, but it’s not clear what to do if not work. Emptiness, fears, self-doubt, and the question of the “need” and “importance” of oneself can creep out here. away from work. Studying yourself and finding contact with yourself is a fascinating process, the result is worth it! 4️⃣ Receiving instant joys and pleasures. The goal is to diversify life, leisure and recreation. Try new things: in sports, in food, in music, in communication, everywhere. Bright colors inspire and help you continue to maintain a healthy work rhythm. In fact, this is everything that our hero Rat dreamed of, but constantly put off until later. Let’s change “later” to “now”. And we get strength and energy, additional time, motivation to work in the right rhythm. The main conclusion in a few words: you need to remember and maintain a balance between tension and relaxation. And yes, the path described is also work, only grateful.
