We need fear as a tool, as a mechanism of our automatic brain, to maintain contact with reality. This is the individual's survival safety system. And we are born with this built-in program. However, what happens then? The psyche of a newborn is a blank slate. And then the “recording of programs” occurs on the basis of communication with the close environment, primarily with the mother. There is a “reading” at the emotional, verbal and behavioral levels. For example, if a mother felt fear for the child’s safety because of a dog running past, the child considers this signal as “danger” and subsequently may be afraid of dogs. Next, the picture of the world is formed by beliefs, attitudes, devaluing phrases, prohibitions, manipulative restrictions, etc. And when there is a bias towards restrictions, supposedly for the good purpose of protecting, irrational fears are formed that have no connection with real danger. A person begins to have problems, limiting his freedom. His whole life is focused on serving his fears. He does not pretend to have better work and self-realization; it is difficult to make a choice, develop and discover new things. These could be unborn children, a failed family, unrealized projects that could fill your life with self-realization and happiness. This is the fear of future reality. Fears can be formed from past negative dramatic experiences (personal or environmental). What if this happens again? For example, during treatment a tooth was made very painful, and this negative experience is again actualized when a trigger appears - a dentist, a drilling machine. Or we have the belief that treating teeth = experiencing pain. And so we go for treatment for the first time and experience the fear of pain, which was registered in our subconscious through installation. And this is also a fear of future reality. Do you notice a pattern? We experience an irrational/virtual fear of the UNKNOWN FUTURE. IN THE PRESENT (in the moment) we evaluate reality as safe. If indeed here and now nothing threatens our safety. We also don’t experience fear for the PAST, right? – we know everything there. What do you choose? Serving fears? Or live? Share in the comments. I will be happy to answer your questions!🤗❤️Your psychologist, Evgenia Legontseva
