Due to the nature of my profession, parents of teenagers often come to me and at the first meeting they usually say: “My child often spends time playing on the computer!”, “He sits there all day!” or “He spends a lot of time on the playground (plays football, rides scooters with his friends at the skatepark,” etc. “He is already 16 years old, but he doesn’t even want to think about where to go, what to study,” continues As a rule, such a parent. I usually ask parents how their teenager studies directly. And usually the parents say that on average the grades are 3 and 4, but then they always add that their child is smart, quick-witted and grasps everything on the fly and could. I would like to study mainly for a grade of 5. And at this moment, when the parent relaxed at the reception and began to think that now they will listen to me, and we will definitely explain together with the psychologist, my childish and loving to play some children's games a teenager, but... I unexpectedly, right at the reception, say to my parent: “You know, I have a Zoom conference today, and my programmer is not present at work today, and could you help me install the program on my work computer?” To which parents usually say, for example: “Oh, you know, I don’t know how to do this, or for example, at home our eldest son usually does this,” or, for example, after 2-3 minutes of manipulating at the computer they admit that this is not so easy to do. And then I notice how their teenagers straighten up and literally grow 2-3 centimeters and explain to their parents how this can be done, or fix the problem themselves. For a second I notice that parents think and stop criticizing their teenager, and usually I ask the parents what happened, what were they thinking about? Often, they answer that they felt uncomfortable because they could not cope with such a simple task, and then their children begin to encourage them, emphasizing that it was not difficult and that they were happy to help. It is worth noting that in nature, a person is born the most defenseless and his childhood period lasts the longest, unlike other living beings. What helps the formation of a unique form of behavior, which is not innate, but is acquired through learning in society. These developmental features allow us to assimilate a large amount of available information and consciously apply it in our behavior. The main activity that allows a teenager to actively absorb information is play. In the game, teenagers develop, learn about the world around them, and communicate. Games develop their understanding of a common problem, and their joint solution in the game allows them to better assimilate social norms and rules, the requirements of the surrounding world and roles. It so happens that the longer the period of gaming activity lasts in the life of an individual, the more effectively his thinking develops, the functioning of the brain increases and the ability to establish neural connections increases. All this has a positive effect on the process of personality development. Modern teenagers face unique challenges, they live in the information age, where they are constantly bombarded with a huge amount of knowledge and information, they live in a world where every day existing knowledge is tested and new hypotheses are created that can explain the world around us, and in all this In diversity, teenagers must live and develop, but in order to actively absorb knowledge, develop and, of course, not “boil” from an overabundance of information, they need a very flexible and plastic mind. The ability to actively participate and develop in the world around them, and most importantly, the opportunity to be relevant and in demand will depend on the plasticity and flexibility of mental operations. In order to analyze and assimilate a large amount of information, adolescents need to increase the influence and duration of gaming activities on the characteristics of.
