141294 (466hp) | Very interesting. I would have ordered a BMW diesel if it was available here for summer delivery. I know a number of other BMW enthusiasts who would do the same. What was the cameraman doing in the middle of the two presenters? ??

28101992 (858hp) | a few questions: when will production of all-wheel drive begin on the 550? If the SOP date is for side/top view cameras in September, how long does it take for car production from start to finish and how long before the car arrives in the US? When I can expect delivery to the US (approximate) if I ordered before the SOP date. Thank you friends! I've been hiding here for many months, an excellent site
|
600032 (209hp) | I believe each car takes about a week to produce. For Connecticut, I assume you will get the car 4 1/2 to 6 weeks after production ends. Production of the all-wheel-drive 550 model is scheduled to begin this fall. Rather than go with all-wheel drive for Chicago, I'm just going with a set of winter wheels and tires. It works very well for me.

The U.S. debut of the F10 5 Series will take place at the New York International Auto Show in April. You won't see the F10 in American showrooms until after.

witcher (460hp) | My dealer told me that they get the first production numbers in April, that each dealer receives two units in a predetermined configuration/color, probably during the month of May, that they have to keep these two units for display for some time before you can do it. deliver them to customers, deliveries to customers will begin in June. This is based on what I remember from my conversation with the dealer.

dfy.if (570hp) | The OFFICIAL UK launch of the F10 will take place on Saturday March 20th. Some dealers held a pre-launch of the car, but it only lasted a few hours in front of an invited audience a few weeks ago. I saw the Space Gray one.

darkbimm3r (511hp) | I apologize if the thread I'm about to start bothers people, BUT I'm seriously trying to focus on a new car. I've posted something similar to this before, but I'll try again. 1. I will soon be rotating the cars to accommodate a new driver. As a result, I'm getting a car late this year/early next year. 2. I want a sport/luxury sedan 3. I love the BMW fit/finish 4. I like old school power - and I'm not fascinated by turbocharging - although I like the numbers of torque on the 4.4 turbo. Currently I'm between what may seem like three quite different cars: 1. Infiniti M56 Sport 5.6L 420/417 and 68K loaded to the gills. 2. Mercedes Benz E63 (you know the stats) I'm afraid they'll upgrade to the new 5.5L twin-turbo before I'm ready to order, in other words, a 3. 550 M-Sport 2011 (you know the stats, but no one knows when the M-Sport pack will arrive - completely ridiculous) I know 1 and 3 are priced between 8-9k, and the middle one is considerably higher. The bottom line is that here in Texas we don't really appreciate turbocharging or government health care. Convince me otherwise.
|
jordan17 (411hp) | The F10 is universally perceived as the best car in its class, based on recent reviews in the automotive press. I have driven a 5er for the past 9 years. They are fun to drive, fast and sturdy. The interview is free. Euro delivery is wonderful. I have driven my cars on the highway at high speeds up to 135 mph. At that speed, they feel solid as if you were going 65 mph. If problems arise, which is rare, BMW takes care of them. These are great cars from a great company. They represent great value. I will never drive anything else.
|
15081987 (833hp) | As I mentioned above, I don't necessarily question BMW quality. Frankly, my problem really has to do with the desire to avoid turbos - (which I'm trying to overcome). I know that today's technology has eliminated many of the typical drawbacks associated with it. (I work at a company that deals with turbocharged engines, the area I manage has over 600 of them.) I guess I'm just old fashioned. The way MB still does it (not for long), and Infiniti is the old way of getting around that doesn't replace. In short, I'm worried about the same thing as many with the M division's move to turbo engines. I don't care about fuel consumption at all. If gas goes to $3 or $4 a gallon, that just means there's more for me..

fatty123 (187hp) | Fantastic. A 535i with black shadow lines. Exactly as I ordered it. It looks good. The sound of BMW. I prefer the sound of the R6 to the V8 I currently have, I really do. I grew up with the sounds of the BMW R6 so to speak. The MV8 always reminds me a bit of a Nascar at low revs, I don't like that.... Too bad even if the guy didn't do a little powerslide in the 530d at the little roundabout in front of the house

neophyte (576hp) | It looks awesome. Do you work for BMW? The location in the photos looks like their office in Fleet.

Once again, congratulations, I look forward to receiving your personal opinion! I would highly recommend the Oyster/Black, which makes the whole interior much lighter. But then again, the cinnamon brown is magnificent! I saw a 3 series coupe with it, and it looks lovely... You need them next to each other. The dealer should have a row of seats in the showroom with different colors to choose from...

professora (360hp) | It all started when I started thinking about replacing my current 2008 330d M sports coupe with the 2010 LCI version - until I saw the new interior. I've had my moan on the E90 forum, but suffice to say it doesn't feel like a 28 mile car anymore. Based on past experience, I had ruled out the Audi A5 as it was nowhere near as satisfying and responsive as the BMW, which left me with a dilemma until I saw the new 530d . Well, it's clear to see where the Series 3 pinch went - what an interior. It made me think of a larger car and, if all of the reviews are correct, it would appear to be quite the car. With that bigger car mindset, I drove the Jaguar XF 3.0 diesel today and to say I was impressed would be an understatement: the handling is impeccable, with no trace of the 330's tram lining nor overwriting due to the slightest imperfection of the RFTs. I have booked a test drive of the 530d for next week, but in the meantime I would appreciate the opinions of anyone who has driven it. Thanks in advance, Jon D.

slipknot123 (334hp) | You're right, the Jag XF is very impressive. The problem I have with the 530d is the 4000 GBP extra for the 525d. There are only 2 differences for this money: metallic paint and 40 hp. The 525d is the same engine (3.0d), but slightly detuned. My 525d has only done 300 miles so far, so I haven't had a chance to start it, but it's not slow at all. My round trip to London at a constant speed of 85 mph had a total consumption of 48 mpg. I am very impressed. Take a look at the 525d as well as the 530d

I'll obviously have to drive both before deciding. You seem to know the XF, how does it compare to the BMW ??

There is no such thing as a perfect car, and even if there was, it would be different for all of us. I prefer the BMW (but ordered mine before driving it - some confidence!). I couldn't put my finger on it, but my wife is probably closer. Even without driving it, she said old men drive Jaguars!

However, I certainly don't feel it and am told that I don't look or sound my age. Therefore, to avoid being stereotyped, I hope the 530d rides as well as my 330d. Obviously I could be in for a pleasant surprise and stay with BMW, but I think the 5er looks a little demure and a lot less sporty than the XF, albeit with less of that cheap Jaguar bling. Of course, the ideal solution for me would be the cabin quality and toys of the 5 in a 3 coupe, but I have long since given up on the quest for a perfect world. Hopefully the 530d M Sport package isn't too far away..

nastasia (807hp) | Interesting topic... I tested the XF 3.0d - but decided to order the F10 525d based on the preview event without a test drive. To me the XF doesn't feel as well put together, the dashboard feels a bit cheap and the touchscreen feels fiddly. Also the fuel economy was no better than my current e60 525d. I expect at least a 10% improvement over the F10. Reading the XF forums there are clearly a lot of problems with the car and some Jag dealers don't seem to be very helpful or quick to resolve them. If I didn't drive 15,000 miles a year, I might have been tempted by the looks and handling. As it stands, I need something that also has excellent reliability and fuel economy. Hopefully the F10 will be up to the task. I'm expecting my delivery at the beginning of June, in the meantime I'm encouraged by the favorable comments - especially the improved run flats
