mermer (630hp) | If you also have an LED headlight, you have an additional function combined with night vision: the Dynamic Light Spot, a very impressive function

21101979 (480hp) | I'm currently looking for a specific (damaged) car at auction that I want to buy myself and I noticed that it has a night vision system. My question is, where is the camera itself located? Is it the grill on the driver's side or in the lower parts of the bumper grill? The reason I ask is that the driver side grille/bumper is broken. Also, the cheapest replacement I found is $950. Thanks!

kayla22 (807hp) | Here it is on the radiator grille on the driver's side at F10

Jagu (185hp) | So I bought this car last June. I'm sorry for not introducing myself or posting pictures, but it is a Carbon Black 535 M-Sport with 704 gearbox, built in 2013, well equipped with everything except driver assistance system, very clean, first owner CPO, which had 34,000 miles when I bought it. I've driven from St. Louis to the East Coast and back twice now. I feel like I know this car pretty well now. I am 55 years old. I've owned a lot of cars and driven a lot more, not to mention all the bikes. Admittedly, I've never owned a Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar or anything else in that genre that I could really compare. I've always been interested in very fast (converted) cars and fast motorcycles. Again, I have never owned any of the cars mentioned above, but have driven a few of them. Still, I'm confident that I'm now a Bimmer for life. I absolutely love this car! You can feel the advanced technology in almost every situation, from long journeys to emergency maneuvers that really surprise you in the latter. I had two close calls where this “supposedly heavy” beast behaved like a sports bike. No joke. I have no idea how they can make suspension so clever. I am thrilled with this car! edit: That was the day I drove it home. The only modifications since then are the glossy black twin-slat kidney grilles and the Sprint Booster.

aaron15 (148hp) | It's been raining a lot and quite cold, and this morning, after I parked, I noticed that there was some light smoke or fumes coming from one of the two tailpipes for a good minute after the car was turned off. It almost looked like the car was still running. I'll keep an eye on it, but I've never noticed it before.

pink90 (679hp) | Hello folks. So I just got my first BMW. It is a 528i in Alpine White, built in 2016, with a light brown interior. I was looking for some BMW experience and wanted to see if you could guide me to some sensible and tasteful mods. At the moment it is only cosmetic and minor improvements may be made in the future. It is a 528 after all. I may have looked at some wheels, a front lip, a rear diffuser, a spoiler and dual slat gloss black grills. Also if you have any other suggestions and where is the best place to look or if anyone is selling something. I'm thinking about going with a black and white theme, so I'll probably make the roof and spoiler black when I'm done. I'm trying to keep my budget low at the moment as I ended up just giving a little thought to buying a car. Like 10K little. Looking forward to some great suggestions and thank you for any help or guidance. I'm looking forward to the coming years with this car!

230495 (300hp) | Congratulations and welcome. Wheels: It's entirely up to you. Front lip: I bought mine on eBay. Depends on whether you want real CF or not. Spoiler: I got mine for JBSpeed. They also have many other styles. Edit: Have the side panels painted (remove the ugly yellow/orange side markings on the front bumper). You can also get color-matched fender and rear bumper trim.

But damn, wheels cost a lot. As for the color, I'm trying to decide if I want to color-match things like the spoiler, lip, diffuser, etc. or go for black or carbon fiber. Ah decisions. Speaking of trim, the grill will probably also be replaced. I'm really torn between double or single slats.

151291 (385hp) | I would suggest just searching the forum here for ideas. You never know what you'll like until you see it. We can suggest what we like, but what we like may not be what you like. I spent a lot of time in the photos, videos and media threads to see what people were doing with their cars. You can also check what the products look like on our car and what their prices are on the Commerical Market forum. It doesn't matter that your car is a 528, most exterior accessories will fit...even exterior modifications of an M5 will work. You could even save a ton of money just by browsing the Owner's MarketPlace... good luck!

mazinger (458hp) | Welcome and congratulations on your first BMW. For Alpine White, I usually prefer using CF or black for contrast, so that would be my suggestion (CF spoilers, black wheels, white reflectors, etc.). I bought most of my small cosmetic mods from these websites: IND Distribution (side markers, color-matched reflectors, etc.) JB Speed (black emblems, front grill, etc.) My CF front lip was purchased used from a forum member because this is quite expensive, new. My CF rear spoiler was purchased or manufactured by BMW. I found a dealer selling it on eBay for a great price. The wheels were purchased by a forum member (haven't installed them yet). I would highly recommend you browse the classifieds section and look for deals. Bikes are usually heavily discounted there. Anyway, good luck and be sure to post some photos once you start making the changes

Str8m3 (170hp) | Ok, I put it in even though I bought a stage 2... BMS advised against stage 2 and only installed stage 1. Shit...should have done more research. So it has a decent kick in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear compared to the original. However, it seems that it is anemic in the first and second parts. I thought you had traction problems? Or will it slip and cut the power before I see the light come on? I have Sumitomo 285 30 20s at the back. I didn't think it was so meaty? Could it be that the gearbox is slipping and the performance is also dropping? I had this problem on default performance.
|
1711 (841hp) | I have the same problem where it goes but when it gets into 3rd gear it suddenly knocks you back from the sudden increase in power right!? I'm not sure what it could be, happens to me all the time, it could be traction. If I use the brake support in 2nd gear, it's not a problem.
|
money34 (287hp) | Do you have level 2 or level 2 beta? I had the level 2 beta version with no problems. I didn't see them recommending against level 2 in their official N63 thread. Where did you see that???

|
06071996 (117hp) | I don't have the new JB4, but an older Stage 2. Jon from Burger told me not to use it because the newer JB4 is safer. I guess a few years ago people were blowing coils and stuff and throwing codes. I have a JB4 Bluetooth adapter that I haven't installed yet, so I'll have to look into that. MavRick, yes, let's compare so we can see what's actually going on. I still maintain that something happened to my car after it went to the dealer for service. I'm not sure if the car had a different lightning tune than Dinan.

cameron6 (406hp) | Update: It's strange, but it keeps happening when I feel like I'm getting full volume out of tune... maybe I have a boost leak? Maybe the belt is loose? By the way, those OBD2 WiFi boost readers must be wrong...they only show 3psi and lots of vacuum (-10)? Maybe the calibration is wrong and it's actually 13 psi? Anyway, this must have happened today... I was secretly trolling a Mustang GT on the way to work... it was driving like an idiot, swaying and I was just in the hammer lane. He found it necessary to block three lanes of traffic to get to my bumper...well, it didn't take long for him to get going! I heard him step down and I was GONE! He continued weaving through traffic and passed me as I stopped to let him pass...great to start the day with a smile!

e65r82kni2 (502hp) | Looking at the data logs, I can tell you that the DSC intervenes, closing the throttle and opening the wastegate, although it doesn't intervene enough to flash the traction light at you. It's not your imagination. The way the JB4 hijacks the TMAP boost signal prevents a valid OBD PID from being read. One of the many benefits of a proper DME flash tune instead of a piggyback signal modifier.

So I'm wondering if I might get full power for first and second gear if I turn DSC off completely and manage it manually (big boy rules apply). I'll try that...of course cheek sensitivity needs to be kept high for any yaw motion on takeoff!

22362236 (397hp) | Ok, I put it in even though I bought a stage 2... I had this problem on default performance.
|
swagg1 (445hp) | I have the same problem where it goes but when it gets into 3rd gear it suddenly knocks you back from the sudden increase in power right!? I'm not sure what it could be, happens to me all the time, it could be traction. If I use the brake support in 2nd gear, it's not a problem.

Double Nickel (675hp) | Do you have level 2 or level 2 beta? I had the level 2 beta version with no problems. I didn't see them recommending against level 2 in their official N63 thread. Where did you see that???

spam123 (99hp) | Let's get together and make some moves. I'm actually thinking about going for the beta....

mancity (884hp) | Had my oil changed last week at my local BMW Indy as they had a $99 special. Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but I just noticed that the green mark on the oil filter housing is much further away from the mark on the cap than it was the last time I changed the oil. Is the cover designed to stay that way even after many oil changes? Since then I have put 300 miles on it and there are no signs of leaks. Maybe it's just my OCD lol

savannah01 (964hp) | It looks like the mechanic overtightened the bolt a bit by a quarter turn, which shouldn't be a problem if there are no leaks after 300 miles. I'm a perfectionist and always make sure everything fits perfectly when I change my oil myself. You can easily fix this by using an oil filter wrench to slowly turn the cover counterclockwise so the points line up, then tighten it to the specified torque. Hope this helps.
|
monkey42 (217hp) | How can you expect the markings to match “exactly” every time you change your oil if the torque is the specified torque and a new O-ring is installed? Any difference in O-ring tolerance and/or torque tolerance (within specification) means it may be different.

I respectfully disagree with your advice. If the technician went too far in tightening the cap, he or she most likely over-pressed the O-ring and/or plastic threads in the cap. Loosening the cap (even if done slowly) can result in oil leaks. If OP is really worried about the green markings lining up, he would have to replace the O-ring and retighten it, but there's still no guarantee that the markings will line up. Materials change over time, heat compromises integrity, parts wear, as long as it meets torque specifications, ignore the green markings. My 2 cents.

resin (85hp) | Not necessarily. I've used this method a few times to make sure the markings line up and, thousands of miles later, have never noticed any leaks again. If the marks that don't line up really bother the operator, and his car shows no signs of leaks for hundreds of miles around the filter housing, he could carefully remove the oil filter cap with a socket and ratchet, then put the assembly back in place hand-tighten and torque to BMW specifications, which is approximately 22 ft lb. The use of a new O-ring is not necessary if no leaks occur during operation. In the case of the operation, it appears that the mechanic slightly overtightened the filter with a band filter wrench intended for use on old or rusted covers, which in most cases results in the filter being tightened by a quarter to a half turn is tightened too tight.
