ipswich1 (912hp) | Call BMW Assist from the SOS button in your car. They will ask you a few security questions and provide you with your password, after which you will log into the iPhone app and set up a PIN to use every time you use the app..
|
ashley05 (855hp) | I just had a conversation with my workshop. This is an error generated by BMW Norway. They wrongly confused E60s with F10s, you will probably receive a letter of regret later..

|
jean1234 (110hp) | Thank you for your answers! I don't park in my garage, but in my driveway. I also have excellent cell signal in and around my house. It never takes a few seconds after starting the car, it usually takes 3 to 5 minutes, and even 5 minutes is a lot when you're in a hurry! Unfortunately I've encountered the 30+ minute ordeal over 5 times now, I've used the feature maybe 20 times in the last 2 years. Watch the dealer claim they've never heard of the problem and that 5 minutes is "normal" or that the problem is with Google, not BMW..

By the way, I must have sent at least 30 destinations to my car in the 5 weeks or so I've had it and it still works pretty fast.

matrix2 (75hp) | So my wife has a new 2013 F10 and I bought her an iPhone 4S with IOS 6. The car has the Pro Sat Nav Plus options BUT it doesn't have the BMW Apps option. It uses the Snap-In adapter. We thought she could then do the following things: 1. Sync her emails 2. Sync her text messages 3. View her Calendar 4. View her tasks With the car. So far, I've followed all the tips on setting up alert notifications, showing when locked, turning on Bluetooth, etc. and on Friday I managed to get the system working to view texts and emails. But yesterday, while nothing had changed, nothing was working anymore. At best, the system seems inconsistent. I don't know how to view calendar information or tasks. Can anyone enlighten me on this? The calendar was going to be particularly useful. We then come to the question of the subject. I should get a free upgrade from my mobile carrier and I can have whatever I want. Is there anything other than a BlackBerry that I could choose that works with these options? I paired and connected my HTC Desire to the car the other day and instantly got phone and audio (but the audio stopped playing music after 3 seconds). I'm told HTC supports Bluetooth MAP profiles, so would an HTC device work? I don't need to use Snap-in unless someone suggests it's the only way... Any thoughts on phone choice appreciated, Sam

jorge23 (364hp) | Hello, Another question from me... My wife has a 2013 F10 and I have an 09 E60. When I look at my dashboard, there is a row of buttons marked 1 to 8. If I press any of them, a message appears saying they are not assigned. How can I use them? Is it possible to program them with things like: Go to the house Call my wife Make a voice command Load BMW Assist Switch to TV Switch to Internet Switch to music from my hard drive Show TPMS information Open boot? Oh, and is there also an easy option to set the hard drive music to repeat a track by default without having to manually reset it at the end of each track using the control wheel ? Can I set the PDC sensor to turn on automatically when I park in forward gear? All the best, Sam

Navigate to the desired function (or phone number or radio station), then press and hold the programmable button for approximately 2-3 seconds and the selection will be saved. 12345676 (819hp) | I took my 2011 550 in for a 10,000 mile service. Apparently the car was reprogrammed (not sure why) and when I picked it up the SAT radio was on preview (like for a minute) and absolutely no BMW apps. The snap in adapter doesn't work either, just for charging the phone and playing the iPod. No Facebook, Pandora, Stich or MOG. Even the iDrive's Connected Drive menu is gone. I have to take the car back tomorrow. Has anyone experienced this before??
|
m3gasm (261hp) | Sometimes options are lost if the car is reprogrammed. Take it back and ask them to fix it.
