Sal Collaziano (590hp) | It is very easy to bend the rims and ruin the runflat tires on this car. Most of the time, you won't even notice it because the car is very good at isolating noise, vibrations and harshness from the road. Have your wheels checked if you feel any vibrations. If you feel a slight vibration inside the cabin, it is probably a real problem with this car.

cornerstone (743hp) | Converting my 2012 550i to German spec. Can anyone tell me where to order this part??
fuckedup1 (35hp) | Great question in this thread...here's my story. Currently I drive an F32 430d. The first time I drove a long distance on the highway at high speed, I noticed a very uncomfortable vibration from the car starting at 120 km/h. It was obvious, and it wasn't feedback from the road surface, as I noticed it carefully on different surfaces. Interestingly, the vibration was only present after the first 10-20 miles. Usually the first time driving at 250 km/h on the highway was buttery smooth, but after the first time I slowed down to normal speeds (or the whole transmission reached normal). heat, whatever), this very annoying vibration was there constantly... The vibration was felt all over the bodywork, particularly in the seats and at the bottom of the car, sometimes on the steering wheel too. I changed the tire set from factory RFT to non-RFT, wheels have been balanced several times. Then I changed the complete wheelset to a factory winter set (tires and alloys). But the problem is the same. Now, in my opinion, this problem that really looks like a wheel/tire problem is not coming from the wheels and tires. My dealer confirmed the problem, but has absolutely no idea of the solution, nor does the importer or BMW AG (they reported the problem). So they started changing parts in terms of warranty, but it's a long procedure because they have to get authorization for each move. They changed the brake discs first, but that didn't solve the problem either... At this point I decided to sell the car and upgrade to an F10 LCI. But... I took my friends pre-LCI 530d for a test drive yesterday. And guess what, I felt the exact same vibration as on my car (it had 17 winter tires). Now I'm a little shocked. My friend said he wasn't aware of the problem, which I understand because 99% of his time he uses the car for driving around town and commuting on back roads from the suburbs. Now I'm asking if anyone has solved this kind of problem?

Now I'm asking if anyone has solved this kind of problem?
030885 (957hp) | I had it on my E92... I only used it in 2 situations, in foggy weather, and if an idiot was tailgating me. Otherwise, I haven't ridden with them. On the other hand, I don't have it for my F10.
090292 (351hp) | Good idea for tailgaters! I usually just put my windshield cleaner on and it soaks them, especially on the highway. I see them slow down then turn on their wipers.
mollie12 (115hp) | Quote: Originally posted by Ridiculous Do you know if having the LED lighting package makes a difference? My F10 has LEDs and I was curious, but willing to try anyway. Mine is MY13 so I don't have LED lighting so I can't confirm that.

171085 (658hp) | Does anyone know of any retailers selling this switch for less than the ECS? I have installed it on all my Porsches/Audis and find it to be an essential safety feature when driving in fog. There were many times when I could barely see the car in front of me in heavy fog and I was comforted by the fact that at least the cars behind me would have a better chance of seeing my car..
gulnara (644hp) | Converting my 2012 550i to German spec. Can anyone tell me where to order this part??
000003 (734hp) | I feel like I'm sitting in an antique chair. Every time I step on the accelerator, turn right or left, or hit the brakes, this seat makes noise. It drives me crazy. I took the car in for service twice. All they did was torque the bolts to spec. Apparently the bolts are not the problem. Here's the part that makes detection and repair difficult. When I move the seat forward or back, the noises disappear for a few days. It eventually comes back. My wife says to turn up the volume. I say I paid $65,000 for this car and it shouldn't make that type of old furniture noise. Am I being unreasonable? Has anyone had a similar problem?
211212 (94hp) | Yeah (about the fact that I have a similar problem). My seat back creaked when accelerating, which turned out to be a broken weld in the frame. I replaced it under warranty and everything is fine. Are you being unreasonable? No way...
1610 (70hp) | Maybe ask the dealer to try it and hear it themselves.
04051981 (882hp) | You're right, a 65K car shouldn't do that! You need to be very forceful (but polite) with the dealer. I had a similar problem with my old CPO X5. It turned out to be a faulty seat frame that was going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair, even though the problem started during the warranty period..
maman123 (778hp) | Most likely, the seat belt buckle (the snap part attached to the bottom of the seat) is rubbing against the seat. Put some felt around the part where it rubs against the seat and the problem is solved. How do I know? Well, I drove with a BMW technician to have them listen to the noise from my sunroof, and this new noise appeared and we were able to detect it at that time. BMW put felt on the buckle. This is for a series 5
290683 (159hp) | Have you checked under the seat if there is anything stuck there? I guess they would have. In a previous car I had a similar problem - which ended up being fixed by simply lifting the seat UPWARDS a little. There were wires and such under the seat that were rubbing. This comes to mind when you say it disappears if you move it forward or backward - try up to 1/4 inch.
110778 (799hp) | I love the F/10, however, I'm frankly a little discouraged by the number of groans and squeaks that develop in these vehicles. My new 2015 550 has been used twice for the same irritating squeak/rattle directly above my head in the headliner. They claim that such a rattle does not exist. I can reproduce the squeak by pushing on the headliner with my hand. Looks like I'm going to have to take it back and drive a mechanic to show him.

Not at all, increasing volume is not what you want to do at this price point. I hope you sort this out soon. It can't be fun on a brand new car. What is annoying is having to repeatedly convince that the after-sales service problem is there. Sure, this may seem like a minor issue to them, but they should expect the owners of these cars to be somewhat in tune with their cars and demand perfection, or as close to it as possible. I spoke to the shop foreman about this recently (after finally proving there was a problem I brought up 4 months ago and 3 more visits since). Every time I can't breed until I insist, he comes for a test drive with me.

pathetic (480hp) | Have any of you noticed how bright the turn signals are on this car? I don't know if there is a difference with the LED lighting package for the turn signals (I don't think so)... but I do know they are redesigned for the LCI (eyebrow turn signal). I can literally completely illuminate street signs 500 feet away with my turn signal. It's almost half embarrassing - it's so bright at intersections that other drivers look around to see whose car's turn signal is illuminating the signs across the street. Have any of you noticed the same thing? Or do I have incredibly bright turn signals!
jessie (435hp) | I also noticed the reflections from the road signs and I have the pre-LCI headlights.
1771 (887hp) | Maybe too much flasher fluid?! Try diluting with water...that might help?
nadia (663hp) | This is actually one of my favorite parts of the car. I LOVE LEDs, especially amber ones.

gaylord1 (488hp) | I didn't really notice this. I will have to check next time.

Either way, bright turn signals when sitting at an intersection attract attention.

krishan (692hp) | My dad and brothers were talking about it last week as the front flashers illuminated the road signs on their overhead gantries. And I have a 2011.

sucks (726hp) | I noticed it recently too. It doesn't bother me. In New York, you need this stuff for drivers who like to nap in the left lane..
