mantha (293hp) I'm not a fan of the new steering wheel design. It looks so... big and bulky.

severus (175hp) I don't know what most people are complaining about. I think the car looks pretty downhill and muscular! It looks a bit like the Porsche Panamera: http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/panamera/ Most of the interior comes directly from the new series 7.

time2go (288hp) Some new shots from spyshots.nl

buddy08 (568hp) I want it to look good and I think it will, but I have two comments: Could it look a little bland? and what possible styling curve could BMW stick to it?

kaylan (349hp) looks like it's going to get a HUGE A** (and it must be the new 535i ? )

vane123 (732hp) I think it will go very well personally. I think most of the most interesting design elements are still hidden. I'm tired of watching avant-garde series 5

anthony09 (611hp) This new 5 series is going to be a Hot Car!! and now since the body structure will no longer use the all aluminum front in front of the A pillar and firewall it will cost less to build......I think it will be very competitive in price terms with the new E-Class which is cheaper now. I hope BMW takes the hint and lowers the price of the F10 series 5 2011.

blancco (99hp) I think it's going to be fantastic! I bet this will be the best series 5 yet! especially this first photo... it looks very good. I can't wait to see him naked!

06081979 (276hp) It looks good. I can't wait to see it discovered. E46 style is cool for me!!

foxy123 (375hp) New member happy to participate in the BMW revolution. But can we finally see the new 5 series so I can decide whether to rent the x6 or the new 5!!! I mean, what are they waiting for? How much do you think the new 5 Series will cost? The lease could be more than x6 since it will be a new car????

beach12 (548hp) I don't think car prices will change much from current levels, we are in a recession after all. I would expect a MAXIMUM price increase of 2-5%, and more likely at the same or lower price than current levels..

Photos of the back? I'm curious, will we see the tape come off little by little or is the next phase of strip tease completely tapeless?

741456 (157hp) Pretty shots! I'm not sure if these were the photos SCOTT mentioned a few weeks ago about an American tourist taking photos in an alleged spy photo of the next-gen 3 Series. The second shot is truly superb in its overall proportions. Also notice some sort of sensor (camera eye) between the second and third kidney grille on the driver's side. Or was it a hood release lever?

You'd expect it to be lower in the front fascia, perhaps in the lower bumper grille, as we've seen with other BMWs. Night vision systems are now installed in the driver's side kidney grilles and will allow for a wider angle and longer line of sight, less debris/snow and moisture. F01 and F07 use the same slot. The F10 will also have this system – it diffuses. This is indeed a night vision and will be identical in form/function to the F01/07 - they have made the system universal, same for the HUD. The grille will also feature horizontal slats to increase rigidity and prevent the camera from shaking at highway speeds. The active cruise radar is located in the lower skirt of the front bumper, as its current is not affected by debris and does not require the long-range angles of the NV. This car is destined for Geneva but there has been a trade in progress and this could be presented at another show. The MINI Countryman SAV was supposed to debut in Frankfurt and was pushed back to Detroit, the X3 is in Detroit and the 5er is in Geneva, but some say the same living room. There will also be several LCIs for spring and new powertrains debuting. So there won't be a show next year without something new and remarkable. Great photos! Night vision: active cruise:

lexus (222hp) Great find! The short front/rear bumper really made the F10 look great on a long wheelbase. The proportion resembled the rebirth of E46!

151987 (185hp) Quote: Posted by PM3 quite obvious by the way - the rear headlights. Have you forgotten the previous 7, 5GT, pre-restyle 3 series 5 doors, etc?? I read an interview with a car designer, I can't remember who, and he said that BMW just wanted to provoke, that his brand wanted to make beautiful cars. As for the pre LCI 3 and the previous 7, yes, but that's when BMW was developing the new look. Now I don't see them as radical. I happen to like the new styling and graphics of the GT and X1's taillights, so I don't see a problem with that. I also think that BMW styling, while not always conventional, evolves over the life of the car and, as a result, looks less dated than its rivals - for example the current 5 e-class compared to the previous one, the Jag S-type, etc...

201094 (850hp) a little more:

lagbaja (775hp) Honestly it looks like an oversized e90 with a version of the new 7er up front... While I agree it's time for an updated car, why so bland? The current 5er was somewhat controversial, not as controversial as the 7er but similar, which is part of why I find it attractive...I hope we see some drama when all the camouflage drops..

bosco123 (649hp) those dual exhausts seem a bit far away, don't they? and the tips are so small

killroy (630hp) The only 3 things I don't like: the pig nose too out, the dual exhausts too small, and the rear light (I find it big or a little out of place).).)

300679 (823hp) first of all, to everyone who says it's bland, I can almost guarantee you that when this is revealed, it won't be bland. BMW has carefully placed the camouflage in the right places and with this camouflage design it does a great job of making the car look very bland. the character crease (or whatever you want to call it) that runs front to back on the sides, crossing the door handles, is very well camouflaged, it looks like the side of a Camry. trust me, all this camouflage is first thought about where it goes, it's not just ripped off the car randomly when the tester feels like he wants to remove more camouflage because he is bored. so yeah...IT WILL NOT BE BAD!!! and I really like what they did to the front looking at it in profile. looks like they borrowed this from the CS concept, the nose when you come up from the ground is tilted forward instead of the traditional tilt back to be more aerodynamic. I think this makes it very pretty because it's very subtle and makes it look aggressive and elegant at the same time. exactly how a 5 series, or a BMW for that matter, should be like IMO.

The E60 was a revolution compared to the E39 and the F10 will be an evolution of the E60. After 7 years we can again expect Lambo doors, 5 wheels, 3 doors and no windshield as they must be a revolution compared to F10

070593 (927hp) So far, it looks a lot like a supersized 3 Series. Personally, I find the current bracelet design more elegant and distinctive..

I think this makes it very pretty because it's very subtle and makes it look aggressive and elegant at the same time. exactly how a 5 series, or a BMW for that matter, should be like IMO. Wow, I'm so excited to see what ONE crease on the side of a car will do to make it look more dramatic... lol The trunk is shaped like an e90 and the side will have a body line... wow On the other side of the coin, what you mentioned about the facade, I hadn't noticed it yet. It will be interesting to see what it looks like without the camo, and in person, however, I suspect it will be a scaled down version of the new 7er....

azazello (506hp) Quote: Originally posted by Imola.ZHP I guess it will be a scaled down version of the new 7er... At least they didn't use a photocopier like Audi does...

21031983 (715hp) Good point, I think Audi is getting to where BMW was before Bangle - "same sausage - different lengths". It will be interesting to see if they face the same criticism as BMW and how that will affect their styling..

honey69 (824hp) I wish they would put the dual exhausts from the 750i on the 550i =DDD

10081982 (440hp) I think the best rendering so far is Valencia, and I think it will be like that, which is a good idea I guess

wiggle1 (718hp) To me this looks like the next iteration of the e39. I still like the e39 so it's great IMHO.

It will be interesting to see what it looks like without the camo, and in person, however, I'm guessing it will be a scaled down version of the new 7er... What are you talking about... You act like the E60 ago a crazy huge side sculpture in progress. The E60 has a fairly bland design, with the exception of the front headlights. Most modern BMWs have fairly flat sides with just the right bumps here and there, if you don't like this styling facet of the car then you just don't like BMWs. Please don't bring up the E36 or E39. I'm sorry, but the 90's and black side moldings are gone and they're not coming back. Now let's go back to the current spy photos and look at them more carefully, obviously there is the main line running along the door handles, similar to that of the E90, X5, X6, F01, F07, etc. Also if you notice the black By sticking tape to the bottom of the side panel it sticks out so there is a curve that will give a lot of depth to the side view, especially with a metallic color. Now the front and rear of the car are still taped, and these are some of the most distinctive and important styling features of any car, they haven't been revealed yet, so criticizing something that you haven't seen yet makes you look...well...I won't say.
