Well, maybe it was Portugal's heady sea air, but these same executives just told us that the decision has been made to price this new and improved 5 Series below the outgoing model. nonford (974hp) | I was invited to drive the new 5 Series this week in Europe as part of the North American press presentation. We'll be driving the 535i and 530d and will have access to several BMW engineers and marketing teams on the 5 Series. Just curious if anyone here has any direct questions, photo requests, etc. regarding the new 5. They probably won't confirm anything about the M5, but I'll do my best..
whyme1 (99hp) | Yes. I posted on your comment on the E90 forum that I would be interested in your thoughts on the new 5er as a serious driver's car. BMW seems determined to make each new model longer and heavier than the one it replaces and, naturally, the F10 is bigger than the E60. This all seems counterintuitive given the increasing MPG demands, so let us know what you think and how it compares to previous models..

The differences come down to size and an extra sense of gravity in the 7. It's simply a car with a more substantial feel. As for xDrive, all 5 Series models will be available with xDrive from fall this year: 528i, 535i and 550i. There will also be a manual 550i with M-Sport package (rear-wheel drive only).).

Petro94 (277hp) | Hello, I just saw the preview of the new 5 and the car is simply stunning in real life. In the photos, it may seem a little heavy but in real life, for me it is the perfect 4-door car from a design point of view. Inside, you feel that the car surrounds you much more than the E90 and E60. The quality inside is also MUCH better than the E90 and E60 - it's really nice to touch everything and it's nice to turn and push the controls. Ulrik
smellycat (215hp) | Good news! Is the interior quality similar to the 5 Series GT ??
help4me (874hp) | I think so. It looks very similar in photos but the F10 is much more intimate and up close (as it feels), which I really like. The 5 GT was also there but had comfort seats that made a difference, but even the 5's standard leather seats are pretty decent. The 5GT's rear seat is very laid back, which I found a bit odd and not very comfortable..

BardG (953hp) | From the editorial: All-wheel drive will be offered on all engine variants (automatic only) by the end of the year. Can anyone else corroborate? I've seen few details about the xDrive models, probably because they won't be released until the fall, but it's disappointing. Current 5 Series models offer xDrive with manual transmission option, so I hope they don't remove it. I currently drive a 328i xDrive manual and was really looking forward to a new 528i xDrive manual next spring. I realize that manual transmissions only make up a small fraction of sales and probably an even smaller fraction of those are xDrive models, but give me a break, I live in Michigan.!

baby04 (561hp) | I just took delivery of a 2010 BMW 528i and since I got home from the showroom the car has been moving from right to left to right at highway speeds. The dealer lined the car up and checked everything else, everything was within spec. The service manager drove the car with me and felt the same way. I have driven 2 other new cars with the same results. I have the sport pack with 18 run flats. I have since asked a BMW field engineer to test drive the car, he said it was like the others he drove, but in good faith he just gave me the new Bridgestone Potenza to see if it was the tires. I just took it home and from 60 mph to 90 mph the car still wanders. Does ANYONE have this same problem or know of a solution??? BMW says everything is fine. This is not the case!!!!

This is not the case!!!!

faulkner (987hp) | I don't know exactly why, but I find it disappointing. Not bad but it doesn't get my juices flowing. The rear seems a bit Japanese to me, like the Infiniti G37. I love the interior though.

urbanity (800hp) | Personally, I think the car looks great. I hope it drives as good as it looks.
julies (779hp) | It looks a lot nicer than the pseudo-Batmobil they've been selling for the last few years.

clemens (463hp) | very nice...and nice to see that the LCI e90 has styling cues that are very evident in the latest/upcoming BMWs here, represented by the new 5.
tasha12 (617hp) | GOOD. I love it! The back is so well done. I have a few issues with the front, mainly the lower outer edges. Still, it's a perfect profile, and the character line is perfect.

werwerwer (11hp) | I love the look of this car (not surprising as I currently own an e90 and it looks like a big brother). My only issue with choosing is the edge of the hood line on the top of the front of the car. Perhaps less apparent on darker colors. Still, overall it's a beauty.

3691215 (609hp) | Those shift paddles look NOICE! Can we have a photo in black?
r00ster (854hp) | WOW. This might be the most beautiful BMW I've ever seen. I love it from every angle, inside and out. Great job, BMW! Congratulations!
080890 (53hp) | I'm in love...incredible!
bmwmmm (475hp) | pfff WTF! no 535d :/ and I don't know about the rear :/
olivia05 (573hp) | I need time with the rear
adr (566hp) | Many posters praise the new design of the 5er, but then they start to wonder what the M-sport will look like. This seems to me to be a rather contradictory point of view..
purple0 (931hp) | Looks like I'm late to the party, but damn, I like it A LOT!
tazman (493hp) | WOW!!!
car_fan (352hp) | Great job...not so sure about the rear tails...it was a little predictable for me...but the black lines are so bold...would love to see it lit up at night...the rear 7 is way too sick This is the most mature E90+5+7 I've ever seen.
ilovemike2 (460hp) | Am I the only one who doesn't like the flat look of the back cover? look directly from the side profile of the car, compared to the front the trunk lid appears flat.
greggy (654hp) | I think when we all see it in person it will be just awesome! Most of the time I found these press images misleading. We need a natural environment all day and other cars around it. Still, I think BMW has done a good job of appealing to the people who primarily buy these 5 series. Sleek and sleek! Greeting

smiley2 (604hp) | It looks too much like E90. Long live the E39.
Oksana (920hp) | I don't know exactly why, but I find it disappointing. Not bad but it doesn't get my juices flowing. The rear seems a bit Japanese to me, like the Infiniti G37. I love the interior though.
