| gv5235523532 (357hp) | Trinity autosport published a post showing the imperfections of the replica. In my opinion, if you have a dark colored car the gaps are not as obvious. Few members have made the replica and are satisfied with it. If you are anal about your car, just go to OEM because you will know the imperfections. Whatever you do, take it to a good body shop. Preferably one that has already done the conversion. Post photos when you're done. Cheers!

Are they the same design or different bumpers? To me they look the same. If I buy an m5 bumper lip but have the mtech bumper on my car, would it fit? I guess I just need to know the difference between the two bumpers. THANKS

IMO I would leave it and do without the beep before letting the dealer recode my car. Recoding seems to me to be an invitation to encounter other problems after the operation. On the other hand, the guy who took his car to have the recoding done said it worked and reported no new issues after the visit - YMMV

This is a car weighing almost 1.8 tonnes, with a 3 liter engine capable of reaching 52 mph in 6.0 seconds. and yet, if you go slowly at around 60 mph, it consumes virtually no fuel. I really like this combination. Economy if you're not in a hurry but when you want a bit of speed just put it in sport mode and hit the throttle and it pushes you back into your seat. just amazing.

The difference between iPhone and Blackberry (for SMS) is that you only receive SMS sent when you are in the car, you will not receive SMS stored in your phone. I only have one email account set up on my iPhone (Corporate Exchange email account), so I don't know if there is a policy issue. But I'm going to set up a second one to fully try it out. Looks like we're on the right track! I wish the contract photo also transferred like the Balckberry but so far it's a good improvement!

I looked to see if by chance I had the seat heater on, but no, it was the seat cooler. I turned it off and started eating dinner. When we got home, I tried the cooler again. It started to get hot again. Is the fan motor getting hot or is there a cross circuit somewhere causing the upper part of the seat to heat up? Has anyone else had this?

I contacted ItsChase (Chase) and asked for help. I offered to reward him for his time, but he didn't want it. I met with him several weeks ago and he coded my F10 from top to bottom. As Chase worked on coding and I talked with him, I realized he wasn't just interested in coding BMWs. He knows the brand inside and out and has a talent for working on it to such an extent that I couldn't believe it. Two of his most impressive projects were installing a head-up unit on his previous E60 and installing a factory navigation system and I-Drive on his girlfriend's E90. Both of these projects require a large amount of work, parts, talent and knowledge. He also owns a 335I that he modified to develop over 400 horsepower at the rear wheels. Chase told me he installed soft close doors on his 2012 F10. It was an option on the 2011 and 2013 F10s, but not the 2012 F10s. Chase told me to buy the units and he would install them. Again, he would not consider compensation. So yesterday he arrived at my house at 9:50am and left at 9:00pm. (Dinner, beers, and additional coding were also included.) The project is not for the faint of heart. He posted a DIY that details the amount of disassembly and work involved in the project. Then, to top it all off, I bought three of the latches new and one used on eBay. The used one had a broken piece of plastic that made it unusable. Carefree. After over an hour of detailed work, he was able to repair it. Amazing. I've been a part of the automotive community forums for ten years and have met some great people. However, I have never met anyone of Chase's character and talent. I'll give back, but I'm not sure I'll ever respond to Chase. Thanks again.

| babi12 (62hp) | Hello, Even though my order has already been placed, I come back to bmw.de from time to time, not only to confirm prices and so on, but also to read new details about some of the new options, like the new dashboard display. multifunction instruments (6WB) or the new version of Professional Navigation (7SP with 609). I found out that you can't have 6WB and 7SP in the same car, at least in the configurator. You are only allowed to have Business Navigation (606), the one with the smallest 6.5 screen and zero maps, if you opt for MFID. WTF?!? I have signed confirmation of my final specs which have 6WB in combination with Navi Pro (7SP/609) and HUD, so it's very surprising to say the least. What do you think? Should I maintain confidence in this binding document? Is there a history of changes to car configurations/specifications by BMW from what was written in the order confirmation documents ??

I can't even think of a reason for this... Also, the official July 2013 price list contains no indication of option limitations if you choose 6WB..

In the UK configurator, selecting the 6WB multifunctional dashboard deselects the 609 Professional Multimedia navigation system and removes the 610 HUD and 6WA full black screen and takes you back to the 606 Navigation System Business Multimedia (although I have heard (that 6WB is compatible with the Professional Nav without HUD and Full Black Panel Display but the BMW website does not confirm this). This means that those who have the car built in July/August can only have it with 606 (Navigation Business). My car should go into production in week 36, the first week of September, and now everything is falling into place: I should get the new NavPro ET 6WB system in combination with it..

I found out that you can't have 6WB and 7SP in the same car, at least in the configurator. You are only allowed to have Business Navigation (606), the one with the smallest 6.5 screen and zero maps, if you opt for MFID. WTF?!? I have signed confirmation of my final specs which have 6WB in combination with Navi Pro (7SP/609) and HUD, so it's very surprising to say the least. What do you think? Should I maintain confidence in this binding document? Is there a history of changes to car configurations/specifications by BMW from what was written in the order confirmation documents ??

Maybe Jason could help here? Has there ever been any mention of an alleged incompatibility between 6WB and 609 in official press releases or any other official documents? I can't even think of a reason for this... Also, the official July 2013 price list has no indication of option limitations if you choose 6WB..

All dependencies are clearly marked in the official July price list (5_TO_pricelist.pdf file in the link I posted above) and this is not one of them. Nor is it an alleged impossibility to have 6WB and 609.

The brochure you linked says Voraussichtlich verfugbar ab 09/2012, which in English means it is expected around/after September. I don't remember a problem on the BMW.de configurator. The American version has a lot of quirks.

In the UK configurator, selecting the 6WB multifunctional instrument panel deselects the 609 Professional Multimedia navigation system, removes the 610 HUD and 6WA all-black screen and takes you back to the 606 Business Multimedia navigation system (although I have heard that 6WB is compatible with the Professional Nav without HUD and Full Black Panel Display but the BMW website does not confirm this). For a while it allowed 609 and 6WB, but this disappeared a few weeks ago and the BMW product team confirmed it was not available in the UK. Some time ago someone said the 609 and 6WB were available together in Germany, but in the UK this was confirmed as an error in bulletins and on the website..

| green44 (537hp) | I noticed that sometimes it can take a few seconds after the songs start playing for the cover art to appear, and also most of the time the image is very low resolution instead of the sharp image you see in the promotional images put. by BMW. I will post photos but I am traveling, I will do it when I return. If you already have optional iPod integration for your vehicle, you will need to check the music file itself and confirm if the cover art is part of the file information. If the cover art appears on your iPod, it should also appear on the car screen..

I connect my iPhone 4 using the standard white Apple USB cable via the connector in the armrest and it works fine. Every time there is a track change, it returns to a "track detail" view for a few seconds before showing the cover art again. I find that where iTunes had found the cover of the CDs I had ripped, the image is perfectly clear. When I've copied and pasted cover images into iTunes from other sources (because iTunes couldn't find the cover art), these can be tricky depending on the quality of the source. I couldn't tell this before on my old iPod Touch, but you can on the iPhone's Retina display. 4!

I'll be upgrading from iPhone 4 to Samsung Galaxy S3 soon, maybe it will work better. I discovered a few weeks ago that not only was the wrong cover art displayed, but also occasionally the wrong track/artist name... pretty amazing how poorly this is implemented on a 60 car 000 EUR.

There was a lot of discussion about the issue here, when the pouch feature appeared for our F10/F11 drives. Not only is the Y-wire no longer needed, it doesn't work (I guess those of us who moved from the E60/61 just wanted to justify our earlier spend of Ј45 for the special wire!). The standard iPod cable is the correct connection method and everything should be fine now.
