140208 (496hp) | I would like this because I keep my sport mode for suspension only and sport + for more power. Most of the time I want sporty driving and have to manually switch to this mode..

faggot123 (131hp) | Quote: Originally posted by E90Fleet Blame European regulators Or... thank them, I don't know. Try sport+ in wet conditions with RWD, then tell me you want that to be your default mode on a rainy day when you just don't remember leaving it there the night before. Sport, of course, sport+, not so sure.
|
EnI (236hp) | Quote: Originally posted by The Beast Why would you want this to start in sports? I always let the engine warm up before switching to sport mode, the revs are too high in sport for a cold engine, imo. My sport mode is only set for steering/chassis settings and not for transmission..
|
danielle123 (720hp) | Quote: Originally posted by RSBro Yes, you can code it to start in Sport (and I think Sport+). I have a local guy who does coding and this is one of his options. I just haven't been able to get down to see it yet. I would check with the guy. If an F1x series car could be coded to always start in Sport or Sport+ mode, then you've achieved the holy grail. There is a lot of money to be made and thousands of car owners will pay money to code this feature. I have coded over 100 cars, talked to all the top coders in the US, Germany and the UK, and activating this code is still not possible. I hope I was wrong, I would love it to work on an F10 - so could you please check with your guy and post more details please.

20102011 (647hp) | I'm reviving a dead thread... but RSBro - has your guy already coded Sport for you? All the details?

clicker (847hp) | It's not a question of laziness...otherwise I'd drive an Automatic. It's about having technology that cooperates or controls us...and probably also going beyond CAFE and EPA regulations. Pity.

smokey09 (653hp) | Hello, My 2013 BMW 528i was recently involved in a rear-end accident. There didn't appear to be much damage, but upon closer inspection, the rear body panel was quite damaged. It was repaired by a certified BMW shop here in the Seattle area and was recently completed, bringing in a final bill of $11.7K. I am looking to get as much money as possible through a diminished value claim, they have already only offered me $1500 which I consider too low for this. Any advice from you on how to handle this? The insurance company is Geico, if anyone has any experience or advice any help would be appreciated. THANKS!
|
bernard (944hp) | Well, the first thing to do is determine what is a reasonable value to claim. I don't know much about it but here's a good read: http://www.carinsurance.com/Articles...lue-claim.aspx

maluco (12hp) | Geico is TERRIBLE at loss of value claims and the onus will be on you to prove how the value suffered after the repair. Go get an appraisal from a local Carmax or something, and ask them if they can provide a quote with and without taking into account previous damage..

If so, I don't think I would want my car to carry a diminished brand forever..

oliver15 (827hp) | Hire an independent appraiser who will get opinions from at least six BMW dealers in your area. This is important, otherwise your claim will be buried, reduced, delayed, etc. In the event of structural damage, your car has lost 30 to 40% of its value. Hiring an appraiser who uses a formula, algorithm, or simply states their opinion will prove unsuccessful because insurance companies know they can beat you in court. Warning: if the reviewer has an ad at the top of the Google page, they are using a formula and probably also have a bunch of bad customer reviews online..

Even then, their expert will talk to your expert and while they're doing all that, it's going to cost you more to keep hiring people. A VERY basic way to calculate this is to look at the KBB or NADA value of your car as a very good and poor trade-in to get an idea. And what does Carfax say? Minor collision or major collision. If you want us to say more about the $1,500, we need to know more about your car. Miles, condition, options and previous ownership history. If you are the 4th owner and the car has 90,000 miles, 1,500 is a pretty good deal.

membership (611hp) | feel your pain my friend, I went through a similar situation a few years ago. Not our F10 but a 2 year old Jeep GC. The vehicle was struck sideways by another group who ran through a stop sign. 100% other party's fault and citation issued, fortunately no injuries. The vehicle was significantly damaged, but the other party's insurance insisted it could be repaired. We discussed with them upon initial contact that if repaired, we would pursue a diminished value claim. They blew us away. The vehicle was expertly repaired, but we knew that when the time came for the trade-in, we were going to take a significant financial hit. The insurance company did everything possible to defeat our claim, but we prevailed (without an attorney) and ultimately received a satisfactory settlement. Some tips: We had 3 separate estimates from 3 different dealers showing the difference in the trade-in value of the clean title versus the title with serious damage (carfax). Make sure your state honors the diminished value claim. Our state did it (Wisconsin). And seek help from your state's Board of Insurance Commissioners if needed. We did it. Insist that all correspondence be in writing. Not by phone. Not email. Be prepared for a long battle. They won't turn over easily. In our state, the statute of limitations is 4 years. It took us a year and a half to settle in. Do not rely on any help from your own insurance company. They're all in this together and each successful DM claim sets a precedent for them all. Be reasonable in your statement. Ultimately, this can be accomplished if you have patience. And are reasonable. Our claim is for $7,000.00 plus the cost of repairs to the vehicle. It would have been in the insurance company's best interest to simply total the vehicle from the start and move on. And we did it without needing a lawyer. Good luck.

101066 (114hp) | Looks great, really brings together the black out theme with the CF wheels/parts

I saw the photos of the C300 and scrolled so fast I didn't realize I was already at the bottom and skipped further comments. On another note, a cute 5er has always been a fan of dark shades. 5 series always on another level. This fucking mural!!

If you can, get Adobe Lightroom. It's about $120 but definitely worth it. The C300 reminds me of my old car:

In all honesty, the shades really aren't that bad. 15% sounds horrible, but I disagree. I also feel very well at night. I really have no complaints about it. I know a lot of other people think it's almost impossible to see which is really not the case.!

diablo01 (710hp) | So after owning the car for over 2 years, I finally convinced myself to get some tints. I decided to go with 15% all around! I've been trying to practice my camera skills lately, so I did my own photoshoot! Nothing special currently has a canon t3i. Any advice would be great!!!
