I don't know how many of you understood that this correspondence at M5 is on a completely different level when it comes to sporty driving and dynamics! For the European market, sales of these V8 petrol engines are very low, so BMW offered the Wright alternative (M550d)! Everything is done taking into account fuel prices, the cost of the final product and the benefits: it is clear that these diesel engine cars cannot have a very good price in the USA at the moment, so BMW will only waste money adapting these cars for the NA market!

This is completely normal for a high-performance engine. We're just talking about a measly 3-liter engine. Yes, it produces its maximum torque at 2,000 rpm, but it also has ~700 Nm at 1750 rpm and ~650 Nm at 1500 rpm. You would love to drive that! I would! PS If anything, I'm surprised they managed to maintain peak torque up to 3,000 rpm!

Depends on what these mods are. I just leased a '15 M Sport F10 and added a rear spoiler, CF side markers and painted reflectors that I won't bother removing when I take it back. If you lower the car or install a different exhaust, it's a different story.

Have you ever seen the cars with detailed videos from AMMO NYC? Maybe the car details are a bit exaggerated, but I enjoy looking at them and picked up some good car cleaning tips. This is about cleaning the windshield. Maybe something in this video will work, razor blades, polish, etc. I think this guy is in your area. I wouldn't think SB would cause scratches, I used it all over the fiberglass hull and didn't see any scratches on my gelcoat, but I would hold off on the Magic Eraser - it says not to use it on any I would still be careful with painted or shiny surfaces, even though glass is quite resistant. Clay bar can work.

It is located along part of the bottom edge of the driver's door. No other windows appear to have the same. Definitely from the outside, not from the inside. It's nice that the dealer offers a new window without any problem, but it would need to be re-tinted (which they will do), but who knows if the tint will fit (the tinting was done three years ago at my selling dealer and... I have no idea what brand/model of tint was used and doubt they would know either). By the way, that's the reflection of another car next to mine. I hope the vinegar and/or lemon juice helps! Argh!!! The dealer previously polished my driver's door window similarly, but concluded that the vertical lines on the other door windows were from the tint peeling off. My windshield has gotten a little better since then, but I would like to fix the problem and the dealer just wrote this: “This work was done using a small orbital polisher and glass polishing compound. Since there are hard water stains, it must be removed with an abrasive. The technician who did this work did so just to prove what it was by cleaning a piece of glass. This is not our normal scope of work and given our hourly labor costs, it makes no sense to do this work here. My recommendation is to find a glass shop that does window polishing and probably have the job done for less than a hundred dollars. Look for a small mom and pop store.” Does anyone know of any stores on Long Island near Manhattan that would do the same thing for my windshield? Thanks.

This is another product we used in the bathroom and shower...again, all glass - mainly to remove soap scum and film from the glass. I didn't notice it scratching anything. But it's worth trying.

I came to the F10 via an E70 and from my point of view this car feels great, it has a lot of similarities with the X5 but is much better to drive, better technology, better interior and surprisingly the ride isn't as harsh either, so I really like the setup. I've noticed that many of the most critical posts come from the previous generation 5, so it seems that it has lost some of the flexibility of that and the previous 5s. However, this is not a problem for me as I have no basis for a direct comparison...

The other thing I like is how well it signals any potential loss of control and now does a good job of allowing you to correct the car (I've recently discovered that I'm driving rear wheel drive on a lot of snowy roads). It gives the rider a great driving experience without the suspension being too harsh. Maybe the older part is more fun, but we disagree that this one isn't fun at all.

It's nice that the dealer offers a new window without any problem, but it would need to be re-tinted (which they will do), but who knows if the tint will fit (the tinting was done three years ago at my selling dealer and... I have no idea what brand/model of tint was used and doubt they would know either). By the way, that's the reflection of another car next to mine. I hope the vinegar and/or lemon juice helps! Argh!!! The dealer previously polished my driver's door window similarly, but concluded that the vertical lines on the other door windows were from the tint peeling off. My windshield has gotten a little better since then, but I would like to fix the problem and the dealer just wrote this: “This work was done using a small orbital polisher and glass polishing compound. Since there are hard water stains, it must be removed with an abrasive. The technician who did this work did so just to prove what it was by cleaning a piece of glass. This is not our normal scope of work and given our hourly labor costs, it makes no sense to do this work here. My recommendation is to find a glass shop that does window polishing and probably have the job done for less than a hundred dollars. Look for a small mom and pop store.” Does anyone know of any stores on Long Island near Manhattan that would do the same thing for my windshield? Thanks.

It never felt floaty, it never seemed overweight, it had excellent steering, and it just exuded confidence when you were behind the wheel. It was THE perfect balance... a car with perfect handling if you ordered the Sport package or more recently the M Sport package. The new 5 has nothing to do with the old car. It doesn't give the driver confidence. It's floating, it doesn't encourage you to push harder but warns you to back off. Turn-in is terrible and I have the DHP...set to Sport PLUS. It's hard to put your finger on it, but the car isn't what it used to be, and that's NOT a good thing. Is it solid, quiet and vault-like? Yes! Does it make me want to take the long drive home because it's fun to drive? No. In fact, next time I'll drive a few cars I never thought of buying because I'm not at all thrilled with my new BMW at the moment. They definitely got lost there. As you know I have a major engine problem with my current 535d and BMW is replacing it with a 535i. To fix some of the poor handling issues, I went with the 535i and ditched the X-drive. I hope this, along with purchasing lighter wheels and tires, helps right the wrong.

You'll find plenty of enthusiasm for the F10 in these forums, much of it coming from people who've never driven a BMW before. This suggests that BMW actually did the right thing with the F10 - for every one of us who was disappointed by the car, there may be three who are switching from Mercedes. For example. I'm amazed at the F10's extremely docile nature, and the same goes for the automotive press in general. But BMW still sells a lot of them.

If you took the logo down I would swear I was from a different brand...and that is NOT a good thing. Two months later. He called last week and said he had returned the car to BMW and told them he wouldn't drive a car he hated for three years. He now drives a 2015 Jaguar XJ, which he says is a fabulous handling car. Definitely not the type of customer you want to move to another brand.

It is an overdeveloped POS that cannot properly fulfill its main function. The key fob holder also needs to be a little deeper. It doesn't give the driver confidence. It's fluid, it doesn't encourage you to push harder but warns you to back off. Turn-in is terrible and I have the DHP...set to Sport PLUS. It's hard to put your finger on it, but the car isn't what it used to be, and that's NOT a good thing. Is it solid, quiet and vault-like? Yes! Does it make me want to take the long drive home because it's fun to drive? No. In fact, next time I'll drive a few cars I never thought of buying because I'm not at all thrilled with my new BMW at the moment. They definitely got lost there. As you know I have a major engine problem with my current 535d and BMW is replacing it with a 535i. To fix some of the poor handling issues, I went with the 535i and ditched the X-drive. I hope this, along with purchasing lighter wheels and tires, helps right the wrong. Very well said and I agree until BMW lost its way. You'll find plenty of enthusiasm for the F10 in these forums, much of it coming from people who've never driven a BMW before. This suggests that BMW actually did the right thing with the F10 - for every one of us who was disappointed by the car, there may be three who are switching from Mercedes. For example. I'm amazed at the F10's extremely docile nature, and the same goes for the automotive press in general. But BMW still sells a lot of them.

We went to dinner before Christmas and he told me how much he hated his new F10...he had no problems with it but said the car seemed to be a different brand. If you took the logo down I would swear I was from a different brand...and that is NOT a good thing. Two months later. He called last week and said he had returned the car to BMW and told them he wouldn't drive a car he hated for three years. He now drives a 2015 Jaguar XJ, which he says is a fabulous handling car. Definitely not the type of customer you want to move to another brand.

1business (118hp) | 2014 f10 bought new 06/14: No squeaks, no rattles, no problems with RFTs. To date the car has been problem free. Irritating: location of the steering wheel heating switch. You'd think that despite all the German engineering, they could put it somewhere where it would be visible.

It is an overdeveloped POS that cannot properly fulfill its main function. The key fob holder also needs to be a little deeper. Otherwise, a great luxury sedan with enough sportiness to keep you from feeling dead at 50.

michael20 (516hp) | Honestly, if I had wanted something sportier, I would have opted for a CTS-V sedan. I came out of an E60 and while I still love the car, the F10 is much more refined. Yes, it's a bit more relaxed and not so aggressive, I actually like it. I had to slow down anyway.

Occurs when switching between parking, driving, reversing and idling, all intermittently. The acceleration also doesn't seem to be as consistent at times. Not present when warm. I definitely complained about it under warranty but it fell on deaf ears. Any thoughts? Thanks.

badass13 (130hp) | Sounds like the same problem I had. Due to direct injection the valves had a lot of carbon deposits. They had to drop the engine and walnut radiators to clean it. The engine ran great for 3 weeks and now the rough idle is back.
