210676 (873hp) | Does anyone know what the deal is with Realoem Dotcom? Seems like there are hardly any parts prices for F10 parts. Am I missing something? Is the model still too new for them to have the prices???
samiblu91 (800hp) | Whenever Realoem doesn't have pricing, I copy and paste the part number into getbmwparts.com - they usually have really good prices on OEM parts.
metro2033 (447hp) | Ahhh yes, I forgot about her! Thanks, I'll remember that! It just seems strange to me that Realoem's prices are so sparse. Everything E90 is priced there, I'm not sure why the F10 parts don't get any attention.
artemblya (863hp) | I also tend to use Realoem just to get part numbers.
RAMF10 (648hp) | Realoem usually has dealer prices for the parts, but for some reason they don't exist for the F10. When searching for E60 parts, the dealer always showed the MSRP retail price for the parts, but it was very rare that they didn't have the price. I'm not sure why F10 prices aren't listed.

bouiflan (723hp) | It doesn't snow in Iowa, but every day it's something different: rain, wind and cold, then you have all three at the same time. Yes, I feel your pain
brett4 (794hp) | I'm still not sure about the F10. On the E60, the tolerances were so tight that it was almost never worth turning the rotors; replacing them was easier and safer. Of course, the dealer will replace the rotors every time you change the pads, but that's not always the case. If they are still smooth and only have very small grooves and/or a lip on the edge, you can simply replace the pads. The dealer always prefers replacement as they charge a hefty $1,400 for a brake repair

cashmere (442hp) | Holy crap. That's about $400 in parts if you get Zimmerman rotors instead of the OE rotors, probably $600-$700 if you get the OE rotors (I haven't priced all that stuff yet) ? Even if you get the OE rotors, it's still half the price to bring them in for the job. I'm amazed, dude... When I was a kid, I had a neighbor who acted as my father figure, so to speak (my parents divorced when I was 3), and he and his dad were handy handymen. I always went there when I saw an open hood or a vehicle on a jack. To this day, I credit them (both deceased) with encouraging my love of wrench turning.
qwert789 (961hp) | At least it's not the size of hail that hit parts of Dallas yesterday. You can easily remove snow, but such hail will destroy your car!
161087 (319hp) | I get it, I felt pretty much the same way. I rebuilt my first engine with my friend's dad when I was 9 and have never looked back. Since then I have been able to do everything from the suspension to the brakes to the transmission and clutches. I did all the maintenance work on the E60s I had. These are slightly complicated cars compared to the 70's cars I worked on as a kid, but they're still just cars. Bolts, screws and nuts hold them together, that's all. Admittedly, BMW had the foresight to frustrate you with a wide selection of Torx bits and Torx screws, oh yeah, and Allen heads - so invest in sets if you don't already have them

220680 (340hp) | Yes, I saw the N54 120K warranty and I think I saw the F10s have the same HPFP. Well, yes. They cost $4xx, which surprised me when I thought they were $1,000. The other thing that made me grin was the walnut blasting! I get to take a bunch of shit off my engine and then spray walnut shells into it? 12081979 (678hp) | LMAO, yes, walnut blasting is one of the few things I leave to someone with experience. Luckily, it's a fairly inexpensive service here in Southern California, about $250. This makes it cheaper than flushing the transmission in our cars (which costs around 100 euros). $300).

Replacing the transmission oil is also on my wish list. I did it on my automatic E90, it's a PITA, but it was pretty cool to drop the transpony pan (this transpony had a filter built into the pan) and see how all the IF mechatronics got me -Madness stared. Ha-Ha!

del (892hp) | Keep in mind that our OEM front rotors are two pieces with aluminum caps and have the same unsprung weight (around 2 pounds per side). When cross-shopping for the aftermarket, it most likely won't be two parts.

kelly5 (48hp) | Yes, thanks Jay, a friend of mine also mentioned to me that the OEM rotors are two-piece and that this probably won't be the case with non-OEMs. 2 pounds per wheel is a fair compromise to probably save over $100 per rotor, at least for me.

And mine are warped or have hot spots so they jerk at high speeds and are rusted in the vents! They want almost $400 per rotor with my dealer discount! Damn, no son! I'm going to go the Zimmerman rotor route and replace the pads since the OEM pads also broke. The way I see it, why spend so much extra, and I've heard nothing but nightmare stories about the F10's front brake discs and pads warping and breaking again. Used Zimmerman/Textar on my E46 and no warping and no OEM brakes. Just my 3 cents.

On my previous E60 I used R1 Concept brake rotors (I liked the drilled or slotted look) and Hawk HPS brake pads. The only thing about the Hawk pads was that the initial bite was less, but the stopping power was much better, plus they produced a lot less dust than the OEM pads. Additionally, the Hawks are equipped with sensors and the front and rear sets cost around $140. That was a done deal for me. My F10 will definitely get Hawks, SS brake lines and slotted brake rotors.

TurboFrank (210hp) | Thanks for all the contributions, guys. I have Zimmermans on my M3 with OEM pads for non-track/AX and PF08 for track/AX and they have worked great so far. I have a friend with a track prepped E36 M3 who showed me some Zimmermans that came off his car after about 12 days on the track and several AXs and they were in great condition. I really like the OEM pads, so I think I tend to feel like Dadysev, I don't know if I don't want that initial bite. I put the best pads Autozone has to offer on my truck and they are terrible. The initial bite that the OEMs had was completely gone. However, I haven't replaced or rotated the truck's rotors since I only drive it about 5,000 a year, so that could be the cause of the poor performance. I've always wanted to try out for the Hawks, so I don't know what I'll do yet.

07091995 (867hp) | Are you shitting me? $1400 for a brake repair? So that's 4 new rotors, 4 new pad sets, 2 new wear sensors?
ravi123 (824hp) | It doesn't snow in Iowa, but every day it's something different: rain, wind and cold, then you have all three at the same time. Yes, I feel your pain

For my first 5 series they quoted me $1600 for rotors, pads and sensors. Luckily, I was just about to tell them where to store it when I was reminded that maintenance was still included - so it was free

footballer (185hp) | Getting ready for work this morning just won't stop this year.
sub-zero (600hp) | Holy crap. To this day, I credit them (both deceased) with encouraging my love of wrench turning.

maktub (707hp) | Meanwhile yesterday in Florida I was trying to wash my car and the sun was so hot it kept drying out the car and leaving stains lol
blbjn007 (28hp) | I get it, I felt pretty much the same way.

It must be terrible in such weather. I love snow and I really enjoy skiing, so it's not a big deal for me personally, but the people around me are a little stressed, this is taking a little too long.
eustaces (56hp) | I haven't gone as far as rebuilding an engine yet, but boy does that sound like fun (not that I'd want to be able to). Oddly enough, when the F10 came out and I researched the most common problems, I was a little happy to see that I would probably have to replace the HPFP one day. I thought it was cute, a new thing to have fun with! Lol!
davida123 (391hp) | At least it's not the size of hail that hit parts of Dallas yesterday. You can easily remove snow, but such hail will destroy your car!

I thought it was cute, what a new thing to get excited about! Lol! LOL, yes, but it's a PITA to get there. The previous generation N54 engine came with a 120,000 mile HPFP warranty because it failed so often. However, I'm not sure about the N55 (which we have)..
keira1 (878hp) | Yes, I saw the N54 120K warranty and I think I saw the F10s have the same HPFP. Well, yes. They cost $4xx, which surprised me when I thought they were $1,000. The other thing that made me grin was the walnut blasting! I get to take a bunch of shit off my engine and then spray walnut shells into it? When I first heard about it I thought it was some kind of voodoo! Now I can hardly wait! WTF is wrong with me???! Thank God I need a therapist....
rhfcysq (80hp) | LMAO, yes, walnut blasting is one of the few things I leave to someone with experience. Luckily, it's a fairly inexpensive service here in Southern California, about $250. This makes it cheaper than flushing the transmission in our cars (which costs around 100 euros). $300).
rasengan1 (629hp) | From what I've seen, $250 is an AWESOME price! For me, the lure of hooking up my shop vacuum to my 300 horsepower motor is just too tempting to pass up. Replacing the transmission oil is also on my wish list. I did it on my automatic E90, it's a PITA, but it was pretty cool to drop the transpony pan (this transpony had a filter built into the pan) and see how all the IF mechatronics got me -Madness stared. Ha-Ha!

150693 (358hp) | The dealer will always rape you because of the labor costs. I've seen people here do it themselves for a lot less money. Check out the DIY articles, I believe they posted part numbers and how much.
311084 (734hp) | Keep in mind that our OEM front rotors are two pieces with aluminum caps and have the same unsprung weight (around 2 pounds per side). When cross-shopping for the aftermarket, it most likely won't be two parts.
ocampo (75hp) | Yes, thanks Jay, a friend of mine also mentioned to me that the OEM rotors are two-piece and that this probably won't be the case with non-OEMs.

Used Zimmerman/Textar on my E46 and no warping and no OEM braking.

If you are hawks please post. I'm curious to see how they feel compared to the OEM on the F10. I just can't pass up the first bite. Tried it on my old E46. But cleaning brake dust is very important to me at my age
