foolproof (204hp) | No one sees the bottom of the lip, so it'll look good, guys. My first splinter was just as scratched as yours. Then some technician at BMW service scratched the car badly and offered to repaint it for free, of course. I told them to do it in a week and then went out to practice fishing the car properly. Now I no longer have any problems with scratches. It is also important to identify entrances that are difficult to access. Additionally, valets are notorious splinter killers. I avoid them like a plague by parking in front of them myself.

zxcvb1234 (452hp) | Hi guys, I just recently purchased a new front lip, so my current one is for sale! I'll know more later as this is all I have currently (new phone). Most of the lip damage is on the underside (the car sits lower, which is common on Michigan roads). Post this to see if anyone is looking for one and wants to go a cheaper route! I don't really have a price in mind so don't hesitate to make me an offer, I'm willing to negotiate a fair deal!!! I'll have more pictures tonight or tomorrow. The lip is currently removed from the vehicle and cleaned. Just waiting to be packaged and for a new buyer! Scroll down the images below! IT'S PACKED AND READY TO SHIP! Will shit in all states!

Any opinions if these are necessary? Fuel System Service, Wheel Alignment Service, Steering Service 2014 550 XDRIVE M Sport 30K

matt14 (876hp) | Hmm, I've never been sold paid services during the warranty period (2013 model). The only time I paid for an alignment was when my front tires wore out quickly and Michelin said it was the alignment.
|
stupid6 (430hp) | The fuel system is bullshit. In my opinion, wheel alignment should be done annually, or whenever the car develops traction or irregular tire wear is observed. I'm assuming this is a power steering and fluid flush that should be done every two years or whenever the fluid looks contaminated.

190291 (212hp) | Hello everyone. This is the owner of a 2014 BMW 650i Cabriolet (N63TU), but since our cars can have similar problems, I was hoping to reach out to all of you as well if anyone has any good advice. Yesterday I had my mufflers removed and the tips installed. Primarily I wanted to achieve the look in the image below. I'm incredibly pleased with how great the tips look coming through the M6/V style diffuser. The muffler shop here in Denver (House of Mufflers) did an absolutely fantastic job. I had also heard some clips about the exhaust sound on YouTube and my exhaust sound (outside the car!) also sounds absolutely fantastic, very exotic. But the drone is really bad. If I could somehow find a way to achieve the look I wanted, maintain the sound, and reduce the drone, I would be happy. Unfortunately, in comfort mode the car aims to slowly increase the revs to 2,000 and then shift gears. This slow increase in speed results in a massive roar. In sport mode, the drone is not bad when accelerating. However, at around 40mph the revs are just over 2km and again the drone is terrible. Keep in mind that I own a convertible, so I'm guessing it's a little worse for F12 owners. I have to do something. Going back to my original silencers is possible, but not really an option. Honestly I can't achieve the look of the quad fired tailpipes (that's 3.5" but I'd love 4.0") by buying single fired tailpipes for the 650 muffler (the dual outlets only fit round 3, 0 inch tailpipes). I called the muffler shop and he mentioned that a new muffler could potentially be inserted into the deleted section that only has a single socket that will accept the tips I purchased. He mentioned trying out Magnaflow and that it could reduce drones, there will probably still be some. I'm still a newbie to the N63TU engine and BMWs in general as I want to ask the experts out there... Do any of you have any advice? How about an M5 or M6 silencer? I know Megan has a setup but I just don't like the sound of it and honestly I like the tips I have a lot better. I want to make it somewhat cost-friendly, but I just took a $400 risk and it failed pretty miserably. The goals remain as follows and are priority: (1) continued 3.5" or 4.0" dual tips (ideally the same ones I have), (2) no drone, (3) better exhaust note. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

thomas95 (700hp) | Get M6 silencers and clear your resonator. Little to no rumble, phenomenal sound, and you can buy clip-on and clip-on tips from Cyba 3.5.

fenice (354hp) | Thanks for the reply. Just curious...wouldn't removing a resonator increase the sound in the cabin? I understand adding rear mufflers might help, but not following the resonator. The M6 silencers also help reduce rumble, unlike other options (e.g. Megan, Eisenmann, Magnaflow, etc.).?...)?

Yes, they have valves that open and close depending on speed and throttle position, keeping the drone in the cabin to a minimum. Deleting the resonator did not add any drones to my setup. I'm sure others will agree too.

cookie02 (476hp) | Quote: Originally written by STR8-6IX. Replace your mufflers and install a downpipe. Keep your resonators. As I said in my first post, unfortunately reinstalling the original silencers is not an option. I can't have the square tip of the 650 with that Vorsteiner diffuser. I could add separate round tips but they would only be 3 wide and that's too small with this opening. Based on advice from others today, my next steps are: 1. Disable ASD. This seems to work for a lot of people, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 2. If that doesn't work, I will consider buying used M6/M5 silencers with 1/4 shaft resonators (see http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...&highlight=asd). or make another axle back adjustment. If there are other possible options, I'm all ears.

tpain1 (51hp) | Add 1/4 wavelength resonators, they work wonderfully. Mine work best at a length of 28-30.

skipper2 (936hp) | I created a thread on the 6 forum and there are some really helpful people there, but there doesn't seem to be as much activity there as yours. However, they had some great suggestions. Nice to hear that the 1/4 wavelength resonator worked for some of you. I have to imagine this is my cheapest option unless I decide to go with an FI exhaust system...which I'm thinking hard about right now. For those with the wavelength resonator: Did the shop just have tubes made as long as possible? Thank you for the compliment on the diffuser. It's AV style one. The fit wasn't perfect, but pretty good. I'm not good at bodywork at all and surprisingly I managed it quite well.

I have the 1/4 wave resonators and they work quite well.

efrainb (602hp) | Wasn't anyone able to join in with their setups in the 6er forum? By the way, nice carbon fiber diffuser!
|
waterman1 (932hp) | Add 1/4 wavelength resonators, they work wonderfully. Mine work best at a length of 28-30.
|
gunit2 (637hp) | I created a thread on the 6 forum and there are some really helpful people there, but there doesn't seem to be as much activity there as yours.

No, I determined my maximum drone speed based on the number of cylinders I was running 36.

1cheyenne (90hp) | Hello everyone, FNG here. I recently purchased a 2011 535i 6MT. I have spent the better part of the last 12 years in a 2000 E38 740iL and other than tires and inspections, this car has never spent a minute at a dealer/auto repair shop. I like to turn a wrench when I can and do my own work. I've been lucky enough to find information online to keep it running over the years, including an engine swap and a Steptronic upgrade, among others. It was fun to drive, but ultimately I wanted to go back to a manual transmission. So I set out to find the "latest" body style that would fit 5 comfortably while still keeping the rest of my food active, and the F10 came to the rescue! It will be my fifth BMW over the years and my 26th vehicle in my life. First list of mods/updates: - Navigation maps updated in 2017 (done) - Coded for various fun items (mostly done) - BMS inlet (done) - JB4 (waiting patiently on the shelf) - Chargepipe (waiting patiently on the shelf) - Downpipe ( waiting patiently on the shelf) - V1 direct wiring (waiting patiently on the shelf) - M-Sport front bumper (awaiting CFO approval) - 35% tint (awaiting CFO approval) Old Girl (passed on to my mother): New Girl: Please keep an eye out for lots of stupid questions as I learn my sea legs and continue to spend the majority of my time searching for answers in the Internet.

I'm just waiting for the bank account to meet my needs. First I want to do the front bumper. Maybe M Sport. For me, this is the most dramatic (and beautiful) change I could make to the front end. I'm also thinking about lowering it by an inch or 1.4. :-) But the savings account is broken (and so is the CFO), so I have to wait until they both forget about my last trip. Aside from the 3s and under and Ms, these could be the last manuals in a larger sedan for BMW. At least I have something my kids can learn when they grow up! They WILL know how to do it, even if the cars drive themselves by then.

560093 (64hp) | I had a 2000 740iL for about 8 years and it was absolutely great until about 120,000 miles. It fit my body shape almost perfectly. I prefer my 535i now though.

03111990 (849hp) | Finally a weekend full of excitement! My arms, hands and back are killing me. But I installed the charge pipe, downpipe, JB4 and new spark plugs! It doesn't sound like much, but man, doing the downpipe took me all day on Saturday. What a PITA! I'm glad everyone's on board and can't wait to get the computer hooked up and mapped to the JB4.

k3ZeChmExt (133hp) | I have a 2011 535i and my trunk won't open out of the blue. I get in my car and press the button on the front door, no dice. I tried it with my keychain, even without dice. I checked the valet switch in the armrest, it is sent to unlock. I turned it on and off just to be sure. When I press the key fob or the button near the front door, I don't hear the electronics for the lock engage. Any thoughts? Is there a backup I should check? I don't have comfort access or the electrically closing trunk.
|
augie1 (34hp) | Things you should check or try. This was a problem on the E60 but I bet it hasn't changed, the wiring went through the mounting hinge and would snap and cause a short. Does the manual shutter release work through the plate when unlocked? If not, I would say it's the locking mechanism.

sidorow64 (940hp) | Very strange. I ended up using a rod through the passage to operate the lever and fold the seat down. As soon as the seats were folded down, I opened the trunk with a handle. Once the trunk was open, I pressed my key fob, the trunk release button next to the driver's door and on the trunk itself, and this time the lock made an audible sound. It must have either been jammed or had a random hiccup where the lock wouldn't engage. Anyway, I closed the trunk and tried all three methods, this time they seemed to work. I'm glad it was nothing!

tonyromo9 (271hp) | It stopped working again! So frustrating. I'll add some WD40, maybe it's a lubricant problem but I hope it's nothing else, I have to pick up friends from the airport on Thursday!
|
mirjam (892hp) | I'm wondering if a bad trunk release switch could be the cause
