poesia (864hp) Okay, this is probably going to seem like a very stupid question lol but I've owned a 128i, an X3 and now the 535i and I've never had as much trouble parking a car as I do with this one . Has anyone had any problems at the beginning? I hope this is something I get used to. Oh and I also hit a curb from the front bumper (it's not really noticeable) Thanks!

170187 (677hp) I know how you feel! I have a 750Li and pride myself on being a great driver (and Parker - parallel or otherwise). I've had several other large vehicles, S500, Range Rover, LX470, Denali, Suburban and never had more difficulty than with the dimensions/proportions of the 750Li - even with Top View! I believe it's a combination of the terribly poor turning radius, extremely long wheelbase (not necessarily overall length), and high trunk/rear (you can't see anything out the rear window except the rear right). I don't know why it had to be like that, but it takes some adjustment...

250780 (709hp) There is a reason why IAS is an option. My friends are always amazed at the turning radius of the F06 (which is even larger than the F10) with the IAS.

adrian10 (455hp) IAS is the key! Unfortunately not available with x-drive. My previous F10 didn't have IAS but with a top view I could park it almost anywhere.

dominica (135hp) Despite the vehicle's size, the rearview camera with activated guide lines makes it easier to reverse park the F10.

pepe1234 (112hp) yes, I'm on loan and without the camera, it's painful. If you set up your mirrors correctly, you can see the lines when you back up. It's much easier for my suburban to back into a parking space.

forsberg21 (324hp) With the rearview camera and parking sensors, I can park my F10 almost parallel on the first try every time, since space isn't too tight. So, I would say the F10 is a very easy car to park. OP used to park a 1 series may need to get used to parking a bigger car like the F.10.

Russell (128hp) These cars should not require IAS to park easily. IAS definitely compensates for a weak design that led to a poor turning radius, while Mercedes somehow achieves a fantastic turning radius. Totally agree with Suburban's comment (!), though, but I don't understand why the 5 or 7 can't be as easy

sonshine (658hp) Yeah, I had a 535i with the ///M sport package and a rear view camera with parking sensors, really too bad it didn't have side view cameras, like the X3.. I'll just make people think that I was used to assistance and I'm going to have to get used to parking, isn't that right lol

091298 (129hp) IAS is standard as well as DCC in our market. Fortunately.

b11111 (804hp) Quote: Originally posted by Lee Completely agree, but when I drive my other vehicles I'm a little confused. The F10's long nose and low profile make it a little more difficult to park than some. Plus, it's pretty darn wide. All great attributes for driving, but for parking... not so much. I generally have no difficulty parallel parking, but normal side-by-side parking spots can be a little more difficult..

Those lovely proportions, wide stance and beautifully exaggeratedly long hood make it a terrible parking feature. The parking sensors and backup cameras really saved me in some cases in this car. I hope they continue to do so.

focused1 (486hp) You'll get used to it, but it will never get better. The F10 is a pain to maneuver even in not-so-tight spaces like underground garages etc. This is the one thing I don't like most about my F10. It turns like a boat!

dzz (913hp) Haha, it looks like a boat sometimes, but it's a beautiful car!

230288 (921hp) Steve Jobs didn't die, he was hired by BMW. I'm disappointed that BMW has used essentially the same CCC navigation system since 2004 in the 5 series, switched to CIC in 2009, and then introduced another update for an auspicious model year. Apple may think it's a good business model, but it ultimately leads to consumer fatigue: we're too afraid to buy something for fear that it will become obsolete in a few months. Say what you want, but no one buys a Series 5 for practicality. It's also about amenities and image - now I hesitate to say that I will definitely buy another BMW in 3 years when I lease it..

Swack (412hp) Keep it coming Jason! It doesn't look like the F10 535 is going to get the N55HP 320/340 engine? Rumor has it that with the new 3 Series Coupe (4 Series) coming out at the end of the year, we could see an all-new engine released. Is there any merit to this? I'd be really pissed if I bought a 2013 535 and then BMW changes the engine mid-stream once the new 3/4 series coupe debuts. I kind of like what they did with the change from 330 to 335 and also how the N54 cars started getting the N55 mid year for series 1 and 3. Alain

cynthia12 (347hp) I was on the BMW website building a 528xi and was surprised to see that the Dynamic Handling Package was not available. Dynamic Damper Control is available, but not DHP which includes Adaptive Drive. DHP is available on the 535xi. I now know that Adaptive Drive is anti-roll stabilization. I wonder if the lack of DHP and perhaps the 19 wheels were the reasons why some of you bought the 535 instead of the 528. I realize many of you prefer the inline 6 engine to the in-line 4 engine. Thank you in advance for your comments!

26031979 (532hp) I've scratched my front lip so many times already here in LA. I used to panic at the first scratch. Afterwards, I'm already used to it. It's simply unavoidable when you have a low car and steep driveways. I even scratch the bottom (middle part) of my car when entering a garage. I have to get in and out of my apartment garage lol

екатерина (191hp) I have scratched the underside of the front lip several times over the few months I have had my F10. Unfortunately, it is inevitable. This bothered me a lot at first, but I got used to it. Just be very careful with steep driveways and parking bumpers.

Zebru (250hp) Quote: Originally posted by DINAN_GT I just went down a small ramp and suddenly heard a small demolition sound, like a cussh. Go outside and look under the facade and see some scratches. I'm not too happy about it, but luckily you can't see it unless someone crouches down to look under the car, which I don't think anyone will do anytime soon lol. Also, I will be heading to the Detailers area to get full details soon. So my question is: who else has scratched their front lips or bumpers? I've done this twice on my Nissan GT-R. Annoyed me (it's really long in the front - especially at the bottom of the car). Turns out they use 3M protective tape from the factory because they know everyone will do it at least once. On my 535i, a stray piece of tire damaged the front lower area - on the highway.
