bicameral (512hp) | Hello guys, I just bought a 2015 BMW 535i xdrive. I need some ideas with mods. I want to make an exhuast to make it LOUD. I was thinking about Armytrix, but their exhaust is only for the rear wheel drive version. What should I do? But I also get weatherproof flooring, Covercraft sun protection and 20% window tint! Later I would also like to get a Dinan song for a little more power.
|
philly123 (146hp) | I have a DINAN level 1 and a Sprint Booster. The two paid wonderfully...but if you want your car to feel better immediately, you MUST get a Sprint Booster - it lives up to the hype.
|
besties (122hp) | For the exhaust, it all depends on your budget and how much do you want to spend? Try searching the exhaust forum for ideas

forever24 (502hp) | The driver window is denormalized. Will not be reinitialized. It rolls down, not back up. Regulator was removed and checked. The window motor only works when you press the switch to the open position. Only hear a click from the relay when you move the switch to the closed position. Error codes are malfunctions of the anti-jamming mechanism.

abulafia (546hp) | Here's just a random thought... and I apologize if this doesn't work in theory: couldn't you unplug the motor or controller from the other side and test them individually? Ie: Passenger registration with driver engine, and check if it works. Again, it's just in my nature to test with what I have... but if the parts from pass to driver aren't interchangeable, then I'll sit down and keep quiet.

Not to mention all the problems we keep hearing about the 4 cylinder. My MHD Stage 1 tuned 535i gets 24-25 mpg on most tanks in the city. With cruise control and all highway driving I can probably get 30 mpg without any problem.

aliens (830hp) | Nice car... it really is, but when I was choosing a car a month ago I was split between the Charger Hellcat and the 550. I did some research, did a lot of research and had the opportunity to drive several Hellcat Chargers/Challengers and several 550s, from brand new to around 20,000 miles. What I found is that the 550 was a far more consistent car from new to the 20,000 mark. Still very solid, minimal rattles, and the interior showed far less wear on things like the carpet, leather, etc. Second, I looked at the acquisition costs. Dodge Service recommends servicing the Hellcat every 5,000 trips, even though the manual says 6,000... at a cost of $150 per service. With these things in mind, I chose the 550 over the Hellcat. Don't get me wrong, the Hellcat is an engineering marvel (707 HP, you're kidding!!!) with a price comparable to the 550. The car is well built and fun to drive. But all things considered, the 550 is the one for me. Enjoy it and drive this beast safely

Does it feel heavy when cornering? Dodge has done a good job with the interior compared to previous models. The leather is much nicer than the Dakota leather on my 550. The build quality obviously doesn't come close to that of the 550, but the interior is still nice. It creaks and groans a little and the plastic fit is perfect. The car is, as you would expect, incredibly fast and almost uncontrollable when accelerating so quickly. My 550 felt so anchored and secure. Hellcat feels big, but it could also be because the speed adds to it quickly. It's fun to drive and something you can have as a toy. You can definitely drive it every day as it sits comfortably and is easy to get in and out of. But once you're used to cruising on a 550, it's hard to miss. At 85 you don't feel anything. You can't hear the wind noise because the engine is so loud. All you hear is a heavy breathing monster talking in your ear. It feels too floaty in corners, but that could also be due to the speed. If you're not careful, you can pull 120 degrees off the highway ramp and suddenly the handling is obviously impaired. So I think it's more about the speed than the handling... just faster than expected.

Most 550 LCIs work perfectly, especially if you take care of them. A co-worker has this ridiculously weird looking vehicle apparently known as the Hellcat that I don't even want to drive to lunch. I thought he had added those yellow stripes to the front spoiler himself until I saw the OP's picture. I hope OP is happy with his choice and gets the opportunity to drive his car to its 700 horsepower limit.

It is currently BACK in the shop. Last month the fuel pump in the tank was replaced and now the high pressure pump failed last week. The cars had more downtime compared to road time. Havent was away from the DTM for a week. I know the LCI cars are better, but I expected a lot fewer problems with BMW in general. Anyway, I hope the OP doesn't have a lot of downtime with his new vehicle.

Most people trade in everything that is junk and keep the good cars or sell them personally. I recommend you trade in this car. Speaking of brands, I'm not sure how many I've owned in the past (many), but I've always bought them new and haven't had any problems with any of my BMWs. My current 535 has been rock solid and has never been to the dealer other than routine maintenance. But there's no way I would pick up a BMW at any used car dealership.

In my opinion it has everything to do with the brand and its reputation. I'm not out of touch with reality when buying a new or used car and I know that problems arise, but the 550 in general and any N63 for that matter have more problems than any make of any year should...new or used. And for the record: I didn't just buy from any used car dealer. If you followed the story, you would know that I traveled the East Coast to reputable high-end dealers in my search and that's where I got this vehicle. Doesn't really matter because my situation is not isolated. So I don't understand what you're trying to imply... money is green no matter where you buy it. Anyway, I've always been told not to buy a V8 BMW, but I'm an enthusiast and buy what I WANT, and this time I have to face the consequences. When I say I'm not done with the brand, I mean that this experience or the hundreds of others won't spoil me from trying again sometime in the future, but as far as THIS SPECIFIC CAR is concerned, it is being sold, as soon as it is available from the shop, not traded. By the way, Bud, I bought my Volvo from a random car dealer 6 years ago and every time it comes in for service, Volvo acts like I bought it from there even though I bought it from a random used car dealer. I didn't have many problems with it, a bit Maytag-ish, but that instills in me confidence in the brand as a whole. It's not a high performance machine like the 550 so I don't expect problems like the BMW, but the problems with the BMW are weekly. And for the record, you mentioned my accident earlier... I ran off the road and had to have the front and rear bumpers repainted and all the wheels and tires replaced. I'd hardly call this a catastrophic accident, but Tomato Tomahtoe, I guess...right? All in all, with all due respect, sir.

hatemax (674hp) | What I'm trying to say is that in most cases BMW dealers keep nicer or nicer cars on their lot that are traded in or leased and have good records/history, certify them and stand behind them. If not, they tend to auction them off and take them off their property. That's it, I wish you good luck with your next purchase.

flyguy708_2000 (5hp) | Looking for a summer fun car and liked the challengers. When I called the dealers, I asked about the Hellcat. They were sold out everywhere. The next day the dealer called and told me a custom order had been canceled and I could get it if I wanted. So I said yes. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

jaded1 (561hp) | Nice and congratulations. Be careful with this beast!
|
140683 (435hp) | I would have kept the 550! but congratulations!
|
milka1 (444hp) | I'm planning on getting a 2016. I was hoping for some new tech upgrades, but this seems to be 2017 I guess. I will order in October. So I will definitely come back. This won't hold up as an everyday vehicle

wmtmufc1 (199hp) | Is the B5 blue? One of the best colors ever! Have fun!
|
malabar (276hp) | Congratulations! I remember when I moved to the US I almost bought a Challenger SRT. I ended up buying 550, but I definitely still love Challenger. Tell us more about it. How is the interior quality? How does the car feel at about 85 miles per hour? Is there wind noise? It feels heavy when cornering??

100375 (428hp) | For those days when a V8 with more than 400 hp just isn't enough. Congratulations, have fun.

deeter_1 (960hp) | Nice car... it really is, but when I was choosing a car a month ago I was split between the Charger Hellcat and the 550.
