I wonder if adding this mod will provide any real benefit. With the box it appears to cost between $300 and $600. I heard it makes nice noises and is advertised as having a 25 hour performance boost. Is there any truth to it or is it even worth the money? What is your opinion? If the reason is to increase performance, buy a tune instead. In my opinion, the horsepower advertised by AFE is incorrect, but if you consider 25 HP - 15% drivetrain = 3.75 HP. 3.75 horsepower isn't worth $3-600, nor would it stand out on the dyno. If you want to improve the noise, get an open air filter and remove the weatherstripping from the engine compartment. That's right, I have jb+ and I can definitely feel the difference. Worth $200. A friend of mine has jb4 and no additional power at all. I ran a race and achieved the same goal.

zahira (290hp) Bbmw535 JB+ is a nice bump. It's nice that JB4 has the dashboard controls. To get more power from an f10 535 you need a flash and reaching the extreme is my mission. No pun intended.

The 6MT's cup holder is about 3/4 deep and sits directly in front of the center console/armrest, which is a good 3-4 deep. WTF? You press the button in front of it to open it, right? That's the only way it holds something. In the open position I have no problem storing drinks pretty well. My only complaint is that we only get one cup holder (as I'm not counting the fake one on the armrest of the console).).

I rarely have anything in it other than my phone (iPhone 4 fits great, iPhone 6 not so much). When I put a drink in it, nothing has ever fallen out, but it's not a confidence-inspiring piece of technology. It just looks so flimsy and superficial.

There was once a case where a passenger put his drink in it without opening it and the car fell over on a curve. couture1 (956hp) So $90 for some new cup holders, right? I'd rather spend that on a bag of protein! I remember my son was holding his drink in the back of his hand and all I heard was the sound of a running river as he dropped it. I almost told my wife that we were going home with one less child

It took me about an hour, but mostly I was trying to reattach the panel to the console for the first time, being overly careful not to scratch or break anything. Satan666 (57hp) My buddy designed for BMW in Munich 10 years ago. He worked in the Mini and BMW studio and reported to Kareem (??), the man who wrote the E60 interior. He always talked about cup holders, and Europeans had a hard time accepting American habits. They understood that cup holders were desired, but couldn't imagine how nice it would be to drive through a Starbucks while sipping a coffee as you commute. I had a few beers with the design team in Munich and everyone joked that cup holders only exist because the US market is in such high demand for them.

blackblack (631hp) Just in time for summer, my air conditioning failed. I took the car to the dealer and they told me that the air conditioning condenser was leaking and determined that it was caused by hitting an object. The best part was that it is not covered under warranty because it is an external influence and incurs a $1,600 repair bill. It must be a small item as there are no impact marks on the grill or bumper. The air conditioning condenser has never failed in my 2.5 year old car. I did some research and found out that I'm not the only one unlucky enough to have objects hit the AC capacitor. There appear to be systemic issues with our vehicle design and the air conditioning condenser. Additionally, there are already three different iterations of part numbers for the same capacitor. Do you have a design flaw here, why already three capacitor part numbers? Please let me know if other F10s experience the same problem. Of course I fight against it at BMWNA. The more complaints we have, the greater the chance that they will issue a TSB and honor the repair under warranty.

qwer123456 (176hp) I just got my car back with a new capacitor that was replaced under warranty. It took about 8 weeks from the time I took the car to the dealer to get the part from BMW. This is not damage to the stone, but a manufacturing defect. If the dealer insists on the stone damage line, ask them to provide proof that the vehicle was damaged by a stone. Before you do this, I recommend that you inspect the front grille for signs of stone damage such as bumps or scratches. Each stone must first pass through the grid before reaching the capacitor. You are not alone, in another blog (http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/view...p?f=5&t=161859) I wrote the following: There have been many reports of the air conditioning condenser failing . It is probably a manufacturing defect. http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/98474-air-con-woes/ http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=985990 http://www.bimmerforums.co .uk/forum/f15 ... e-t224938/ I personally very much doubt that the A/C condenser will be damaged by a stone chip, because: 1 - It appears that only relatively new 5s that are less than two years old are affected. 2 - There are no reports of damage to the front grille. 3 – No damage has been reported to the intercooler, which is much closer to the ground and much less protected. 4 - No damage to the radiator has been reported. I agree that this is not to be expected if the condenser covers the entire radiator, but I think, correct me if I'm wrong, that the condenser only covers the top left corner of the radiator (seen from the front). 5 – Finally, what is the probability of a sudden increase in damage to the capacitor due to stones related to capacitor manufacturing problems accepted by BMW??

newfoundland (7hp) The dealer called and told me the capacitor part was backordered, with no release date given. I hope I don't have to wait 8 weeks like you. This is not acceptable. Since the condenser is the first thing that happens behind the grill, does anyone know how to protect it without having to circulate air? Thanks.

hanger18 (576hp) Last summer the air conditioning failed on my 2013 535i. When I first picked it up they told me it was probably a capacitor leak caused by the impact of an object. They gave me an estimate of over $1000. They also advised me to contact my insurance company (GEICO), which I did. I called GEICO and they told me that they need to send someone to the dealership to see if the car was damaged by road debris and that it will take a few days. In my case it turned out that it was a leak from the O-rings on the pipe connections. The problem was resolved under warranty. Your insurance company may be an option for you.

They also don't have the wide open spaces to make a 10-hour drive. When my daughter attended GCU, we drove to PHX and back in one day. That was about 14 hours with stops and getting used to it.

I feel privileged to own an F10 with what I consider to be fully functional cupholders. I drove an E38 for 10 years that could barely hold a Dixie Cup. After having a few E's their cup holders were 100 times worse than the ones in the F10. I do think BMW cup holders are an afterthought for the US market. It's not normal to drive on the A6 in Germany at over 220 km/h with a drink in your hand.

And I imagine most Europeans have no idea what it's like to drive ten hours in the same state as Texas!!

prize (854hp) So we had the garage painted and it seemed like the car was closing. I thought it was far enough away, but the wind must have carried the spray from the roller. Tonight I tried Meguire's fine cut but no luck. Tomorrow I will try the medium or heavy cut. Any other suggestions out there? The stains come off with a fingernail or by rubbing. This method may take some time. Thanks

cache (164hp) What color are we dealing with??

cobblers (926hp) Olympic Stain, light brown color. On YouTube it appears to be goofoff or paint thinner.

sommer09 (611hp) A few years ago the wind picked up sprayed industrial construction paint and carried it onto my car. I used a clay stick to remove white paint stains that landed on my black car. It worked. Good luck.

Bill B. (752hp) I would try a clay bar first

It should indicate what you should dilute the product with. This would be the recommended solvent to remove it from the car. Applying the solvent to a microfiber cloth and wiping gently should not harm the clear coat. Watch out for synthetics or satin trim.

kompages4u (674hp) Try claybar or a polish. Worst case scenario, you just buy more paint and paint your car.

28462846 (481hp) Try nail polish remover. It will do the trick
