I ordered 525d and can't get full adaptive drive, only DDC. Get it, no doubt about it. It's 2 different cars. Wallowy Merc like limousine in comfort and sporty and tight in sport. I use Comfort for getting around on bad city roads and switch to Sport on tight corners and on good surfaces.

j0nblayz (281hp) | I think the new 5 Series is nice, especially with the sport package. My biggest complaint keeping me from buying the car is the huge, old-school Toyota Avalon style taillights on the rear of the car. However, I realized something. If the trunk tail lights were removed, the exterior tail lights would look okay. A color matched piece could be inserted into each tail light section of the trunk. I have to think someone else thought of this as well because it would make the car look much better as I think this is the car's biggest flaw. So, has anyone else thought about this? I think this would require a tail light kit as the reverse white tail light indicator would have to be moved to the outer tail lights..

Really? Do you think so? I don't agree. LED light drivers have been BMW's signature for taillights for a few years - thick drivers have been the newer models for 2 years. I think the F10's taillights look really nice at night, very distinctive and very BMW.......hmmm...nothing like the Avalon. You can check out Kfiend's Whiteline taillights. Although I actually prefer stocks. My only objection is changing the turn signal LEDs from amber to red for the North American F10 - a stupid thing to do for such a small saving in an expensive car..

You also need to understand the wiring, I'm sure just removing the lights would cause computer objections..

underwood1 (245hp) | Mine has been held at the BMW preparation center for over 10 days. My sales advisor told me there was a campaign running on all f10 Xdrives. Apparently something with the alignment was incorrect from the factory and they all need to be realigned before being released to the dealers. I hope it will be delivered this week.
|
gofman_osk (279hp) | I spoke with my CA and he told me the delay was due to the Monroey sticker. Who knows.*
|
callista (266hp) | Mine has also been in mail order in New Jersey for over a week. My dealership is also in northern New Jersey...a little frustrating.
|
bacardi151 (75hp) | My CA has stated that no vehicles can be delivered to dealerships until the VPC has installed a part. He didn't know why the part wasn't installed at the factory. He will know more tomorrow after the holidays.
|
clermont (801hp) | mine said something was happening with the front seat...damn, it's frustrating that everyone gets different stories. I want my car!!!
|
tiffany! (949hp) | It must only be a 535 thing, I'll get my 550 xi tomorrow.

12345Q (131hp) | I just heard my CA talking about the car delays. According to him, a bushing or something was not installed or was not installed correctly at the factory and the repair is in progress at the VPC. They have the parts to do the repair, but there are apparently 1,200 cars that need the part and it's not a 1-2 minute repair, hence the big delay. God forbid if your car is #1200 in line to get the repair. I suspect this is due to the risks you take when ordering during the first production run of a new car. In this case, I sincerely hope that the old adage that good things come to those who wait applies..
|
020491 (302hp) | I'm still waiting for my 535xi. In Baltimore last Monday. The dealer said there was a bracket that needed to be replaced. Will be repaired and shipped on Monday October 17.!!!
|
uu (439hp) | I was expecting my 2011 535xi this week. If I have to wait, well.........I have my car running 10/26/2010.
|
brandy5 (654hp) | My dealer initially said it was the seat that needed to be fixed, but after that he said it was the combox that needed to be installed...damn.
|
F24DAD (694hp) | All these different stories/reasons circulating from different sources about the significant delays in Xi deliveries do not inspire the greatest confidence in me. We all pay a significant amount of money for our pre-ordered BMWs. We deserve at least a simple answer about the status of our deliveries. I mean, seriously, BMW, is it so hard to get your stories straight ?.

I am currently awaiting delivery of a Havanna Metallic 535i with Oyster/Schwarz and Light Wood trim. As I have never seen this color in the flesh, your message was particularly reassuring and comforting! I find this color to be the most elegant choice for the F10, away from the more common (but still excellent) space grays, sophisto and sapphire... Thanks for sharing and best regards from Argentina.!

theshit (6hp) | I washed my car for the first time a few weeks ago and discovered that the front passenger door seal on the frame (not the door) was slightly damaged. It was visible upon closer inspection. It is small but can obviously grow over time. We also found that the rear door seal near the side (on the door) was hanging (about 6 inches in length) and the plastic brackets were not properly installed. I was a little disappointed to see them in a high-end car. I just fixed the second problem by just pushing the plastic buttons, but drove to show the damage to the dealer. They made an appointment with the after-sales service for an inspection. I had to go to the dealership for the second time just to show the problem but was told their approving manager was not there to return. Last Saturday I went to have the gasket replaced but found out they had ordered the wrong gasket (for E60). ...so it's another trip to the service department this weekend. Has anyone had a similar experience?

arthur (81hp) | I'm having trouble repairing my DLR even though I haven't had to travel as much. I brought my car to them over 2 weeks ago. They looked at the electricity and connection to find the cause. They said everything seemed to be working fine and couldn't understand why the DLRs weren't working. This is after waiting a few hours at the showroom. Following their advice, I took the car back from them a week ago, to leave it with them all day. They still haven't fixed the problem. They said they had downloaded the information from the “brain” of my car and sent it to German headquarters. I'm still waiting for their news.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Any chance to post a photo? Would be helpful to compare so others can compare/look.

212224236 (582hp) | Here are some photos of my new engine! My first impressions are that I love it. An improvement over the E60. OK so I've only done 40 miles and maybe I'm bi because I work for BMW but so what! Enjoy the photos, I will update them over time.

something2 (531hp) | Cool: we have someone with aluminum interior trim. What does the aluminum look like with the bottom metal trim strip? It has been suggested here that the two metals mixed together might appear strange..

It looks really good, but if I could respec mine I'd go with gloss black instead, because with a white exterior and black leather, high gloss black trim would have been perfect. But I'm very happy with it, I'm about to go back and pick up some friends for dinner... Check out how good the lights are at night!

ilove24 (860hp) | Wow, a fabulous car!! Do you have the standard suspension or the dynamic handling package? How does it ride over bumps and handle curves?
|
joker3 (437hp) | Congratulations, it looks fabulous. I guess the inevitable question would be how is the ride with standard 19 wheel suspension?.?

Thanks, I have the Dynamic package, and I'm amazed at the difference, in normal mode it's so smooth, but it wallows in the corners, but once sport is selected, everything changes! tighter in corners, and I'm surprised that even over bumps it still absorbs it and doesn't crash like I thought it would. I've driven 150 miles now, I can't get out of the car, 150 miles may not seem like a lot but I only have a 10 mile commute to work.!

Mystic528xi (655hp) | Thank you for your new car. I ordered a gray 520D Sophisto with the same interior as yours (black leather - aluminum trim). Since I haven't been able to see it in real life yet, I'm curious what you think of it (especially the aluminum trim)? Also, curious if you opted for the Seal and Protect option.

Sophisto Gray is very nice! I saw one the other day. The aluminum trim looks very nice, if I ordered again with white on the outside and black on the inside I would go for high gloss black trim, but the silver is just as good. It will look good in yours, that's for sure.

andyl (194hp) | Man, this is fabulous. I'm happy for you. Well done. I think you made the wisest choice regarding color. I never thought White would look this good on this body. Isn't it strange that some body styles, some colors don't look good? Well you like it.

123abcd (727hp) | Good. take good care of the aluminum trim. they can be easily chipped.
