Once upon a time a man was traveling in distant lands and got lost. He wandered for a long time and finally came out onto the road. But where to go: left or right? The left road went down somewhere, and the right road kept going up. The traveler did not know that one road led to eternal oblivion and was called the Road of Lies, and the other road made any person a hero and was called the Road of Honor. The traveler thought about which road he should take, and then decided that he was already tired enough, and so he would take the left road, since it looked easier. And he began to go down the road. There was only one bad thing: the lower the road went, the darker and scarier it became around. Ominous shadows began to appear on the sides of the road, and an unpleasant cold was blowing from somewhere. The traveler's mood became completely joyless and gloomy, but he did not want to go back. After all, it would be difficult: to go up all the time. And he decided to continue his journey to the end to see where this road would lead him. He often stumbled, fell, and this made him more and more angry, becoming angry and gloomy, like the landscape around him. However, it soon became so dark that the man began to see the road very poorly. Now he walked slowly and before taking a step, he carefully touched the ground in front of him with his foot. And suddenly his leg felt empty. There was nothing solid ahead that we could rest our feet on. The traveler crouched down, felt for a stone behind him with his hand and threw it forward, but there was no impact on the ground. He threw another stone, a larger one, but again there was silence. It seemed that the stone was flying into some endless black abyss. Only now, horrified, did the traveler realize that he was standing on the very edge of a bottomless abyss. And this abyss was called the Abyss of Oblivion. Everyone who fell into this abyss disappeared forever from human memory. The man got upset, turned around and hurriedly went back. It was difficult for him to go up, but now he knew that there was no other way. It was slowly beginning to get light, and the road could already be clearly seen. “How many careless people chose the easy path and died in this abyss,” the traveler thought as he returned. - How lucky I was that I stopped in time and did not take the last step in my life. How long or short did the man walk and come to the place from where he began his way down. Now, without hesitation or stopping, he continued his journey along the road leading upward. The higher the traveler rose, the brighter the light became. The waterfall sparkled in the sun, the birds chirped joyfully, and he had never seen such a rich variety of flowers before. It seemed that everything around was striving for the sun and rejoicing in its warm rays. Yes, the road up was more difficult, and it was hard to climb, but the surrounding unique beauty helped the traveler to take his mind off the difficulties. And the steeper and more difficult the road was, the more beautiful it became around. Even the sky and clouds began to change their usual colors to amazingly rainbow shades. The surrounding beauty filled the traveler’s heart more and more with joy and happiness. And the higher the person climbed, the better, stronger and kinder he became. On steep climbs, it was constantly necessary to overcome fear and perform feats. The Road of Honor is difficult. But it leads to glory. - How nice it would be if this difficult path never ended! – the traveler exclaimed loudly and joyfully. “Never, never, never,” the echo answered him. “Will it never end?” – the man asked loudly. “It will never end, it will never end, it will never end,” repeated the echo.
