Correction of behavior with a pathological level of anxiety. “Fear is an emotional state caused by the lack of responses to memories that cause pain.” (Ishkhan Gevorgyan) Often in children and adolescents there are manifestations of a pathologically high level of anxiety (tics , body tremors, hand tremors and similar symptoms). Such reactions appear in children to a real or imaginary situation of threat or danger. At such moments, the child may feel weakness, rapid breathing, anger or fear. It is important for an adult to understand that the little man is under the influence of the instinct of self-preservation and such manifestations in the body are a protective reaction to a stressful situation. The parent must quickly help his child mobilize all the resources of the child’s body to reduce the level of pathological anxiety and increase the feeling of safety and security in a simple way: CALMLY, WITHOUT yanking, take the child by the hand, say “I’m nearby, everything is fine.” By acting in this way, you give the child support and a sense of security. Try to breathe in one rhythm with the child. Gradually begin to breathe deeply, exhale slowly, looking into the child's eyes, continue to say words to calm down. Do not shout or judge under any circumstances!!! At the level of breathing, you show the child that you are giving space to this experience, sharing his worries. After breathing has normalized, show periodic attention to the child (either focus on the child’s internal sensations, or switch his attention to describing external objects and situations in the environment that are safe in present tense for the child). This way you normalize the state of comfort. If signs of calm appear (normal breathing, increased mood, etc.), do not mention all the symptoms displayed for the near future. Dream about something pleasant. Show care and delicacy. Fill the following time with calm conversations, draw, dance. If you experience frequent manifestations of pathological anxiety, contact a specialist.
