Body dysmorphic disorder, also known as dysmorphic body image disorder, is a mental disorder in which a person experiences excessive concern and dissatisfaction with their appearance, often perceiving themselves as distorted or unattractive. This problem can significantly affect a person's quality of life and self-esteem. It often occurs in people with eating disorders and disorders. This disorder manifests itself with symptoms such as: - Excessive concern with appearance. A person with body dysmorphic disorder may focus intensely on flaws in their appearance that others may not notice or attach as much importance to. He sees a completely different picture in the mirror, which in no way correlates with objective reality. - Constant reflection and verification. They may spend a lot of time analyzing their appearance, comparing themselves to other people, looking for evidence of their imperfections. - Avoidance. Because of the fear of being judged or judged based on appearance, a person may avoid interactions with other people and social activities. - Need for permanent correction: People with body dysmorphic disorder may turn to cosmetic procedures or surgery in hopes of correcting perceived defects (for example, permanent plastic surgery). What could be the reasons for the development of dysmorphophobia: heredity and traumatic events of the past. Traumatic events or negative experiences in the past (eg, bullying, insults) can ingrain feelings of inadequacy and create the basis for body dysmorphic disorder. Also, do not forget how much modern beauty standards influence us. Modern standards of appearance, constantly comparing oneself to others based on idealized images presented on social networks and media, can increase feelings of inadequacy. A biological factor is also possible, so certain mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety disorders, or chemical changes in the brain, can aggravate body dysmorphic disorder. * Link to my current COURSE ON ADDICTION * Link to a useful TECHNIQUE ON ANXIETY
