From the author: Note: Irina’s comments and her questions are structured in a special way; from the outside they seem somewhat strange, sometimes they do not sound quite “Russian”. This unusual approach promotes movement “in depth” and high-quality awareness-insight. Dialogues are given in abbreviated form. Dialogue The price of your point of view. (I-Irina, S-interlocutor) S- Sometimes it is extremely important for me to defend my point of view. It seems to me that if I agree with someone else’s position, then I will show my weakness. And - To agree with someone else means to show your weakness. S- yes. And I really don’t like it, because... I feel somehow weak-willed, cowardly, I agree with everyone. It’s as if I’m unable to defend my position and I’m succumbing to weakness. And if you don’t defend your position, then you’re cowardly. And why are you cowardly? S-yes, cowardly. Because in reality I agree with others because I am afraid of quarreling. And I'm cowardly because I'm afraid to be alone. A strong person is not afraid. And - You are afraid to be alone and agree out of fear of quarreling. And when you agree, what do you want to happen? S- I want people to be friends with me and treat me well. And for this I make this sacrifice. This is the price for being with someone. And - To be with someone, you need to make this sacrifice - agree with someone else's position. And how do you like it? On the one hand, I don’t like it, but on the other hand, I realized that if I compromise and agree with someone else’s position, then I become TOGETHER with this person. True, he paid for it by giving up his opinion. And I realized that I have choice -1. disagree and remain alone, but with your own opinion, or 2. agree and be ALONE with someone who is dear to me. And - and when you realized that you have a choice, do you feel weak-willed and cowardly? S- No. Because there is no longer any fear of being alone, but there is some kind of strength from the feeling that I can choose. Thank you, Irina. P.S. The following dialogue is on the topic: “I don’t trust anyone.” Friends, write dialogues on any topic that interests you. Compromise leads to unification with others, and defending your point of view leads to loneliness with your point of view .
