From the author: Among the authors of such methods of teaching children are Marsha Wenig (YogaKids method), Sonia Sumar (Yoga For The Special Child method), Shakta Kaur Khalsa (The Radiant Child method), etc. Nowadays, children are taught to achieve their goals, but are they taught to be themselves? Not only sessions with a psychologist, but also yoga classes can help children feel a special space within themselves that gives them knowledge of what it means to be themselves. It is self-awareness and the experience of experiencing our individuality that helps us fully discover our talents. Personal experience in yoga for more than 5 years. This year I completed a program for teaching children's yoga. Starting from this school year, I have been conducting classes with primary school children (1-4). I often hear that yoga is not for children, and you can only do it from a certain age. Guruji B. K. S. Iyengar believes that the practice can only be started from the age of eight. But these restrictions are related to the personal views of those speaking out. In my opinion, children’s yoga, although different in appearance and form from adult practice, still remains yoga. The idea is the same: children learn to breathe correctly, to be strong and collected, to control their body and their emotions. I’m not trying to deceive parents; I’m not saying that yoga is a panacea for all diseases. It is wrong to associate cases of healing only with practice. If we talk about children with special needs or children with chronic diseases, then they, as a rule, receive a variety of comprehensive assistance: medical, psychological, and others. It is very difficult to isolate what makes a person feel better. Yoga is one of the many components of a healthy lifestyle system, which gives a child the opportunity to get a different quality of life. In principle, there are no contraindications to classes. If parents have doubts about whether their child can study, it always makes sense to consult with a doctor and a teacher, but do not be afraid to take this road.
