Guys, let's live together! / Cat Leopold “Sensitivity is a personality trait consisting of increased sensitivity and vulnerability, self-doubt, increased conscientiousness and a tendency to doubt, to fixate one’s experiences.” “Emotivity is increased sensitivity of the individual.” (psychological dictionary) Hence the name emotive or, as it is also called, sensitive radical. Remember the story of Macedonsky, who selected soldiers based on how they react to unexpected danger? Precisely the unexpected, because if the danger is predictable, then a person can pull himself together, adjusting his behavior to the necessary one. Those who blushed when he frightened them were usually the epileptoid or paranoid type, he took them. And those who turned pale are the asthenic type - there are none. Why does this happen? When red, blood flows to the outer parts of the body, mainly the muscles for active actions, such as fight or flight. And when pale, on the contrary, it flows away from the outer parts of the body, as if trying to preserve life by even losing some members of its body. And the man freezes. In general, he is not a fighter. And these differences are due to the type of functioning of the human nervous system. This difference can even be found in animals. Some, in case of danger, show aggression or something like panic (fight or flight), while others save their lives and freeze to the point of complete immobility, pretending to be dead. And this, under certain circumstances, is not without meaning, because this is precisely the way a person can survive when attacked by a bear. The bear does not immediately tear apart its prey and, thinking that the victim or rival is dead, leaves him and leaves, which allows the asthenic type, who has fallen into a stupor, to subsequently survive. I would like to note once again that these strategies are absolutely reflexive and practically not amenable to any -conscious control. So how do people who received such survival strategies at birth build their relationship with the world? This is where the divide between the anxious radical and the one we are talking about now is the emotive radical. The anxious one, having such functionality of his nervous system, chose to refuse any struggle, reducing the risks to the maximum. And he directed all his strength to preserving the little that he has, since he understands that in open competition he will lose to other radicals. And the emotive one simply decided that everything he has, he will give to others voluntarily, receiving something in return - That. And such behavior is not without meaning, since people generally remember the kindness shown to them, and, if possible, try to respond in kind. Perhaps not always and not in the same volume, but this is enough emotive. And I will emphasize once again so that there are no misconceptions on this score: this behavior is driven not by a person’s conscious choice, but by the choice of his subconscious schemes, controlled by the neurotransmitter levers of the limbic system of the brain. So who are emotives? First of all, these are true altruists, sensitive to other people and ready to always come to their aid, even to the detriment of themselves. It’s in their blood, as they say, they just don’t know how to do it any other way. Which, by the way, all other radicals use without a twinge of conscience. Emotives feel the pain of others as if they were their own, and can give their last to someone who needs it, even if he needs it less than them. And they will be really happy that they were able to help someone. The motto of their life is “Kindness rules the world.” Emotives are not fighters if they have to fight for themselves, but they can show miracles of perseverance and heroism if they have to fight not for themselves, but for other people. Everyone probably knows those people whom you can call in the middle of the night or even come to cry into your vest. And they will patiently listen to you all night and sympathize, although they have to get up early for work. What place do emotives occupy in our society? First of all, they make wonderful social workers and psychologists, good teachers and pedagogues,.
