From the author: Personal growth, self-development, self-knowledge, psychological training, online course Last time I wrote about how our drawings can warn us about an impending illness. Today I want to present to your attention another work by the same client of mine, completed two years ago as part of the “Past-Present-Future” training (continuation of the “The Path to Yourself” training) on the topic “My Present”. In this work, this woman draws a tree as a symbol of her life. Look at this drawing: the tree stands in the middle, the left part of the picture indicates a rather dramatic and painful past of this woman: the scorching sun in the upper left corner, fenced off from everyone and everything by rocks that look like into the flames, the burnt left side of the tree. All this suggests that, until a certain period in her life, my client perceived everything outside her as some kind of aggressive and hostile environment that breaks and destroys her, literally incinerates her, depriving her of the opportunity to live and develop. But pay attention to the trunk - it is even, smooth, its bark is not damaged by fire on any side. The trunk of the tree is directed upward, firmly held by the roots, and there is fertile soil under it. Which indicates that in her current state, this brave woman accepted that “all enemies live within us” and thanks to this, she gained some stability in her present. The barrel, like an arrow, is directed upward, which indicates that the client has a certain goal in her life, a goal that gives her support and hope, a goal that directs her to growth. I can say that during therapy, my client, at that point in time, realized and accepted her true values: family; children; her own development and self-realization as a professional, woman, wife and mother; health, both your own and that of all family members. For her, this was a hard-won breakthrough. For she took the path of taming her own passions and her selfishness. Believe me, it’s not easy, it’s not easy to give up the way you lived before, and it’s not easy to realize your past life as just an existence in some kind of case, while completely immersed in the sweet unreality of your own creation. And to realize one thing, but to decide to correct your own life, to decide to re-educate yourself - this requires enormous courage, will and love of life, conscious responsibility and purposefulness of life. The right side of the tree shows hope for the future. Even though the branches here look like they were broken off, but they are covered with lush foliage, the tree has come to life and is living! Even if the crown is not lush and not so dense, the tree lives, grows and develops! The tree illuminates the warm sun, illuminates, and does not scorch, warms, and does not incinerate. To the right of the tree there are multi-colored flowers, which indicates that my client began to see the joy in life as it is, he became somewhat open to people, ready for cooperation and communication. My client's worldview has changed! She had hope for the future, and here in her present she rushed towards it. I am inspired by the courage and bravery of my clients! After all, it is far from simple and easy to overcome your own weaknesses and delusions. Build your life in a new way based on your true values! Thank you so much, my dear clients! With your personal feat, you give hope not only to yourself, but also to our entire human community! Author: psychologist Svetlana Gutyar. Other articles by the author.
