Examples are a good thing. You give examples, and a person understands what you are explaining much better than if you presented him with a bare theory... There is even a method of presentation that generally contains only examples, without any theory at all. This method is usually used by spiritual teachers and preachers of morality: it is called parables... For example, Christ spoke in parables, that is, he drew life examples, completely omitting theory. This method, we repeat, is very visual, but it is understood only by people capable of imaginative thinking, that is, those whose intellectual function called “imagination” has not yet been completely reduced by the Bologna education system and passing the Unified State Exam. the fact that he is not able to understand Christ when he says “Turn the other cheek” or “Don’t bury your talent in the ground,” but even looks at a psychologist with suspicion when he starts giving examples... Let’s say, the author of these lines often draws parallels between the work of a psychologist and work as a plumber. So you called a plumber to fix a leaking faucet. After half an hour of the plumber fiddling around with the tap, it continues to flow, and you tense up slightly. After two hours of unsuccessful fuss, you kick out the plumber and call the next one. Is this what happens? However, in a situation with psychotherapy, a person behaves completely differently. Having not received results within several months, and positive dynamics within several weeks, a person continues to carry water with a sieve: apparently, hoping that in two or three years he will somehow miraculously get it... And, of course , sooner or later, somewhere on a psychological forum, or in another living space, his suffering cry is heard: “I have been in therapy for four years, but there is no result!..” Usually the first thing that makes sense to ask such a sufferer is about how the lack of results is explained to him by the plumber he called... excuse me, the psychologist he hired. And then in about half of the cases it turns out that the patient did not even ask the plumber this important question - frankly speaking, Hamlet’s question: although this is the person to whom this question should have been asked in the first place... “Man, you’ve been here for two hours already.” digging... Will you do it or won't you? Are you having problems?.. If yes, then go ahead, goodbye, I’ll call someone else...” In the other half of the cases, the patient still finds the courage to ask the plumber about the reasons for the lack of results. And he receives approximately the following answer: “Maria (Elena, Anna, Peter, Pavel), we are at the very beginning of the journey... Crane analysis is a complex process, it requires a very careful, sensitive, and attentive application of strength both on my part and on Yours... Trust is the key word in our interaction with you..." Well, and so on. Legs and waist... And the patient, naturally, looks at the dripping faucet, and under the rhythmic beating of the drops on the floor, he begins to believe that faucet analysis is indeed a complex process, and even begins to wipe with a rag a new puddle that has formed during two hours of unsuccessful fussing of the plumber... You don’t believe it ?Here is a direct quote from a plumber... excuse me, a psychologist (more precisely, a psychologist): “In the psychodynamic approach, you can analyze for five years, but the result will not be visible immediately.” I won’t point out the source, take my word for it... Having heard this, I’m tempted to ask my colleague about her possible reaction from visiting, well, let’s say, a doctor of body medicine... So she comes (God forbid) due to some kind of ailment of hers to a doctor of body medicine, and he suggests that she undergo tests for five years, the results of which will not be immediately visible to him, my dear fellow. I won’t even dare to guess what kind of walking erotic journey she will send this luminary of medicine, for whom the analysis and diagnosis of a patient takes almost as much time as his entire training at the Faculty of Medicine took... After all, she may die while he understands her analyzes , isn’t it?.. Well, or, on the contrary, to recover, according to the will of God... However, for some reason, she herself, telling this to her own…
