From the author: This is the second step of working with insomnia. To work with insomnia, I always ask clients to fill out a Sleep Diary. This allows you to more accurately track the client’s sleep patterns. The first step in working with insomnia: “Do you have insomnia?” Beginning: “Do you have insomnia?” Continuation. Some of my clients complain of insomnia with a reduction in sleep to 4-5 hours per night and immediately ask to recommend sleeping pills. But then it turns out that after each such night they sleep off, that is, they sleep for 12-15 hours. So it turns out that sleep for 2 nights is 16-20 hours, this is an average of 8-10 hours per night. This means that we are not talking about reducing the duration of sleep, but about disrupting the sleep-wake rhythm. And this is a slightly different approach to therapy, and it is quite possible to do without sleeping pills. Only based on the results of a sleep analysis over the last 7 days can we draw the first conclusions about the presence and nature of the sleep disorder and make recommendations. For this purpose, I suggest a “Sleep Diary”. Here is an example of how to fill it out. It was a day off, but I couldn’t sleep for long in the morning. June 3 20:30 23:006:107:00 I read in bed in the evening. Turned off the light and immediately fell asleep.
