How often do you hear a critical voice in your head? The Inner Critic is one of our parts of personality, which is most often the personification of your Parent (the critic). This part of personality is formed in childhood and is based on your personal childhood experiences. Accordingly, in therapy it is revealed that the critic is your parent (usually one), from whom you often heard criticism in your direction as a child. How does he manifest himself? He accuses, shames, forces you to make excuses, demands, compares with others, humiliates, insults , doubts, scares, scolds, puts pressure on pain points, devalues. What phrases does the Critic’s voice say: 1. You won't succeed2. You can't make mistakes3. How stupid (stupid) you are 4. It's my own fault 5. You are unworthy 6. Something is bound to go wrong, without even hoping that everything will be fine7. Where are you going? Why do you need this?8. You won't be able to handle it9. Where did you get the idea that it’s special, etc. Why does it manifest itself and most importantly, why do we listen to it? The critic is our Parent, which means, first of all, he protects us from something and gives us a sense of security. And who does he protect? Of course, there is an inner child inside us, who in turn is in a traumatic state (offended, insecure, lonely, etc.) That is why he reacts this way to the voice of the Inner Critic. The good news is that the inner critic is not an external object. This is what lives inside us, which means it is something we can control in one way or another. It is important to find a compromise with your inner critic, take support from him and, at the right time, give him a logical response to his criticism and insults (if any). There is a very good exercise for this. Make a card: on one side write down the exact phrases that the critic says, on the other side the answer (as if you are acting as a lawyer for yourself. It is important to give those arguments that will convince the Inner Critic. Use this card in moments of crisis for yourself. My clients always helps. For self-analysis, 2 questions that will help you recognize your critic: what is my critic doing now? What does he want to protect from? If difficulties arise, come for a consultation, with my help the result is achieved faster and more carefully..
