Each of us has difficult moments in life. We may be upset and worried, worried and anxious, we may have difficulties communicating with people, difficulties at work or in personal relationships. Everyone copes with these and many other difficulties as best they can. Someone can figure this out for themselves. Someone cannot cope with their problems, and because of this, for example, they constantly complain to others, or take it out on loved ones, or turn to alcohol for help. Or he pretends that everything is fine and keeps his experiences to himself, and because of this, problems with physical health may arise. However, if we complain to others or keep our experiences to ourselves, our difficulties will not disappear. Therefore, in order for them to stop ruining our lives, there is professional psychological help. You can and should contact a psychologist, for example, in the following cases: - if you are constantly upset, if nothing in life pleases you, your mood is constantly bad and you don’t want to do anything; - if you are dissatisfied with yourself, doubt your strengths and possibilities for something - then to do or achieve something, if it is difficult for you to take on something or maybe you are constantly dissatisfied with the result of what you did; - if you are afraid of something, for example, something specific, or simply constantly experience anxiety incomprehensibly why; - if it is difficult for you to communicate with people, if you think that people are not interested in you, or even treat you badly; - if you are dissatisfied with your personal, family life, if something does not suit you in it; - if you dissatisfied with your job, dissatisfied with what you do or with relationships in the work team. This is an approximate list of difficulties and problems with which it definitely makes sense to seek help from a psychologist. Of course, this list could be longer, because we are all different and face different life situations and difficulties. But I tried to give the most common examples when psychological help would be useful. How can a psychologist help in these cases? The main result of his help is an improvement in life, improved mood, relationships at work or in the family. This is a decrease in anxiety, the emergence of greater self-confidence, in one’s strengths and capabilities. This is easier and more pleasant communication with other people. These results can be achieved in different ways, depending on the direction of psychotherapy the psychologist works in. Some people pay more attention to feelings and experiences, some to events from childhood, others to behavior or relationships. For example, I work in a direction called cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. This means that the focus is on studying our thoughts and how they affect our feelings, experiences and behavior. Studying and changing our thoughts, and then our behavior, learning how to think differently, that is, more rationally, allows us to achieve the desired results that I wrote about above. Thus, no matter what direction the psychologist works in, he can provide you with professional help and, together with you, resolve the difficulties and problems that are ruining your life. This is exactly what psychologists are for. The main thing is to understand that a psychologist never solves problems for you, but you do it together. A psychologist helps you and guides you, and you learn to cope with difficulties in the most correct and reliable ways that psychology equips us with..
