From the author: About what I’m ready to work with, and what I can’t imagine how to do. Phone call. Kl: Hello, my child hasn’t eaten meat for many months. Me: Hmm... How long how old is the child? Kl: 23 years old Me: Mmm... And where do you see the help of a psychologist? Kl: Could you convince him that vegetarianism is harmful? Me: Hardly. The only thing I see as potential help is the ability to organize your dialogue, to become a mediator. Give you and your child the opportunity to hear each other. Summary: After this call, I felt sad. My sincere conviction is that at 23 a person chooses his own beliefs, takes care of his health, etc. For me, at 23, he is no longer a child. Yes, I understand the feelings of a parent - the desire to take care, anxiety for the future of a son or daughter, sincere love. At the same time, I, as a psychologist, cannot in any way change a person who does not want to change. Neither by order of the parents, nor by order of the spouse... It seems to me that the right path is communication with loved ones, a heart-to-heart conversation, expressing your love and care, and... accepting loved ones as they want to be. This is probably the most difficult thing. And in this I imagine the participation and support of a psychologist. Contact us.
