Sometimes the author works hard, but the article is difficult to read: boring, incomprehensible, controversial. Why is this happening? Often the author does not want to think for himself, but simply rewrites other people’s articles and books in his own words. It turns out bad. Few people are interested in the new description of the wheel structure. Of course, there are talents who, thanks to their wit, manage to rewrite other people’s thoughts in a new way, but there are few of them. Look, for example, at works about “panic attacks” and “why you need a psychologist.” Before this, play psychic, guess the content of the articles without reading them. I admit that you know 90% of what will be written there. Someone simply copies the text or part of the text, modestly keeping silent about the fact that the author is a different person. By doing this, the imaginary author admits to his stupidity and dishonesty, which means there are no thoughts and words of his own at all. If we exclude the poor presentation of other people’s thoughts and outright plagiarism, then there will be a huge number of articles that can (and should) be made interesting and easy to read. There is exception. For example, scientific articles aimed at a specific (narrow) audience. Such articles are written according to special rules, they contain specific terminology, links to their own research, and excerpts (thesis, research) from other authors. It is not easy for an ordinary person (not a specialist) to read scientific terms without preparation, and it is not really necessary. According to statistics, approximately 60-70% of articles are closed without even reading two or three sentences. What are the reasons and how to improve the readability of articles? 1. Poor design. This includes: lack of introduction, main part, conclusion. The big disadvantage is that it is a continuous text without division into points, paragraphs, theses, etc. Too small a font or printing entire sentences in capital letters looks bad. The solution is simple and obvious, you need to take care of the readers, like in a restaurant: dishes are brought separately and one at a time, you can put everything on one plate, but the customers will get up and leave. Readers do the same, divide the text, highlight the main thing, follow the order of presentation. This will greatly increase the readability of articles. 2. Uselessness of the article. Benefit is a subjective concept and depends on many reasons, first of all, on the reader himself. On the other hand, an article describing the cause of the death of the boll weevil in northern Brazil in 1586 is less useful (or completely useless) to most people than an article about earnings or relationships. Focus on topics that interest most people or the interests of the community where the article will be posted. People call this the target audience. 3. Unclear title. It is believed that the title of an article should be catchy and attractive. Sometimes this is true, but I think, at a minimum, the title should be informative, corresponding to the content of the article. It happens that an article is called “Jealousy,” but in fact it is about the help of a psychologist to all those who are “jealous” in the world. There is minimal information about jealousy, about the successful experience of a particular psychologist - 90% of the content of the article. 4. Illiteracy. Many errors make it difficult to understand the text. Commas are not just punctuation marks; they often greatly change the meaning of what is written. There is only one way out, check your text. There are special spelling and punctuation checking programs to help. 5. Lack of evidence. If an article contains many controversial statements, the reader begins to refute them and internally protest. The lack of convincing evidence (or any) creates a feeling of superficiality and frivolity, especially if the author claims to be scientific and valid. 6. Slogans and generalizations. For example: “You need to return to your real self in order to fulfill your destiny. Only in this case will the path to success and prosperity open.” And so the whole article is about nothing. Slogans, as motivation, can be good, but as the content of an article, they are simply tiring, and it is not clear what to do? People say - a lot of water. Everything is simple here, when there is nothing to say, then there is no need to write, anyway, they won’t read the “water”. 7..
