As Wikipedia writes, Group psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a specially created group of people regularly meets under the guidance of a psychotherapist to achieve the following goals: resolving internal conflicts, relieving tension, correcting behavioral abnormalities, and other psychotherapeutic work. There are methods of psychotherapy that were originally developed as group ones, for example, psychodrama, sociodrama. The psychodrama method, as one of the main ones in working with groups, makes it possible to see your situation “from the outside,” “through someone else’s eyes.” With the help of exchanging roles, and feedback from these roles, you will be able to talk with any of your loved ones without doing it in real life, so to speak, rehearse this conversation. You will be able to feel what it is like to be “in the place” of another and understand why your loved ones do not understand you. You will be able to play any role that is close to you. Psychodrama gives you the opportunity to be an actor and play different roles in your life. In a group, deep topics are often resolved and this happens, as a rule, faster than in individual work (in individual work, more profound topics are worked out). And all this happens because thanks to group dynamics, you will be able to develop and grow not alone, but together with the other participants. You will have maximum support and attention that you so need in a difficult situation. The group can be focused on one specific topic, or created from people who simply want to share experiences, difficulties and joys with other people. Help someone. I am sure that once you try to work in a group, you will do it more often. After all, in psychodrama, you yourself are one of the psychotherapists. We are waiting for you! Author: Maria Khachaturova
