Just yesterday, one of my respected and very thoughtful readers, with whom it is interesting to talk, asked me about what made me go to a show in Thailand where transvestites performed as actors. I answered (if you want, you can see it in the comments to THIS ARTICLE), and today I thought that I was called to the Tiffany Theater by another of the human needs - the need for novelty. In our troubled world, clients who come for consultations with psychologists, More often, according to my observations, they talk about the need for stability than for novelty. Stability is important. Perhaps, sometimes it is incredibly important. Without the stability that a resource provides, it is very difficult to live. The need for stability is the opposite of the need for novelty. Think about implementation. There is a need for novelty when your life has become very formulaic, when you live it in a constant “Groundhog Day”. Regularly experiencing “Groundhog Day” over time begins to depress most people and can even lead to emotional burnout. From the outside, such a life may look good or not, but for the person himself it ceases to be felt as good and fulfilling. Why not, in this case, introduce something new into your life? It is better for this, of course, to turn to your desires, even if they are not very expressive. Ask yourself the question: “ What do I want other than what I have in life every day?” If you don’t want anything, try to answer the question “Why?”. Or maybe it’s time to see a psychologist? Perhaps it makes sense to remember your desires of the past, temporarily pushed back. Or sometimes dream analysis helps. Dreams sometimes provide a colorful illustration of what desires we suppressed consciously or unconsciously. For example, I recently dreamed that at the end of my life (at about 118 years old 😊) I was analyzing it and realizing that I never gave myself time to draw in high, and I’m very sad about it. Or perhaps you should honestly look at who you envy or admire. Or, for example, at whose life model, as if fantasies about reincarnation turned out to be not unfounded and you would take as part of the basis for his. Is it worth the wait? Well, or not so globally. Maybe, for the sake of novelty, tomorrow it makes sense to start life not with coffee, but with tea or, say, fruit drink? If there is no protest against this, of course. Or don’t go all the way from work, but walk at least part of it. Or don’t watch the TV series today, but go play in the snow if the snow hasn’t melted yet? Maybe buy new perfume? Even if it’s a super-mini format – the most suitable for getting started. Plant a flower? Learn to play tennis? Take a vocal lesson? Or something else? I suggest sharing in the comments simple and not too risky ways to bring something new into your life, great , if they are from your personal experience. I will be glad and grateful!
