“Every second we have a choice - to shine to the world, to bring good and happiness to others with our lives, to smile... Or to make claims, to be offended, to complain...” Came across one of the articles on VK today. It has become fashionable to choose the positive, to concentrate on the good. But where should we put everything else that is not positive? “If you are in a bad mood, stay at home, don’t spoil the mood for others,” this is from a consultation. That is, being successful, lucky, coping is cool. What if there are difficulties? Go somewhere and handle it yourself, don’t embarrass yourself with this cringe. And this is not only a phenomenon of today. I once read about samurai. They woke up very early, shaved, washed, practiced martial arts and meditation, put on their best clothes - they prepared to die for their feudal lord (this is an honor!). If a samurai was deprived of the protection of his overlord, or was not protected from death, then he became a ronin, and this is a shame. The samurai committed hara-kiri to express his unconditional devotion to the owner, and hara-kiri also became a way to regain lost honor. In the 19th century, this ritual was banned. In the Soviet Union there were Boards of Honor and Boards of Shame. I worked at GAZ in the 90s, I remember there was a board called “Our Nesuns.” In such a split, when we are not accepted with problems, when we are forced to go into isolation, it is not surprising that thoughts about not wanting to live may appear. The fear of not coping, of “disgracing ourselves” (not passing the Unified State Exam, for example), becomes worse than the fear of death. It is easier to die than to admit that I failed, I disgraced myself. Yes, this is a difficult and inappropriate topic, because death is always inappropriate and unpredictable. Just because this topic is not discussed does not mean that it does not exist. According to the World Health Organization, more than 800,000 people commit suicide every year, and for every uncompleted suicide, there are over 20 attempted suicides. And these are only officially recorded cases. In almost all countries of the world, the highest suicide rate occurs among people aged 70 years and older, and the lowest among children under 15 years of age. In the 15 to 29 age group, suicide is the second leading cause of death. (the most vulnerable, financially dependent layers). Borisonik E.V. in his work “Completed suicide and a suicide attempt of a loved one as a situation of extreme stress for the immediate environment” states that “suicide can emotionally affect up to 60 people in the person’s environment.” Since it is not customary to talk about the suicides of relatives, relatives are often isolated and left alone, which is an important factor in the emergence of suicidal thoughts. We are launching a series of workshops on the topic of working with suicide so that specialists can gain more support in this topic. At the workshop we will come into close contact with mortality, as well as analyze and find resources and needs that will allow us to turn the vector from death to life. Come on Saturday, October 14, from 10.00 - 17.00. Details on our website: https://www.help-nn.ru/news/3304/
