"Simply and easily!" - have you heard such a phrase? Do you use it yourself? Or this one: “Oh, this is hard! Let's not do it! I once caught myself by the tail and thought about how I use these words and what effect I get. And I discovered an interesting point. Now I’ll share with you... Two pairs of antonyms that are often used as synonyms with each other. Easy - hard, simple - difficult. Raise your hand, those for whom this is about the same thing? In general, there is some truth in this. In the dictionary of synonyms they are very close to each other. And at the same time, there is one significant difference! The pair of antonyms “Easy - hard” is more likely about the physical characteristics of doing something. Easy - without spending a lot of effort and resources (physical, mental, emotional). It’s hard, and accordingly, it requires a lot of effort and resources. The pair of antonyms “Simple - difficult” is more about the structure of the matter, the task in question. About how long the algorithm of actions will be. For example, going on a trip: planning it yourself is difficult, many actions and conditions need to be foreseen and fulfilled; Simply, if you delegate all the preparations to a travel agency, all that remains is to arrive at the airport on time. Got it? Let's check! Unload the truck? The structure is simple, but the effort required is difficult. Organize an event for 15 people? In terms of structure it’s difficult, in terms of effort it’s easy. How can these two pairs of antonyms complicate life, you ask. Has it ever happened that a colleague, client, neighbor asked you to do something, and you did it for free, i.e. for nothing? “It’s so easy, simple! Why take money? you say. And it’s okay if this is a one-time event. What if you do this all the time? The clients with whom we analyzed these pairs of antonyms came mainly with the request: I can’t make money. And imagine their surprise when it turned out that they possess complex skills that others do not possess. And at the same time they do it so easily that they don’t notice. And that’s why they DEVALUATE, often perform these tasks for free. Another category of clients came with a request for a crisis in a relationship with a partner. Having figured out exactly this pair of antonyms in the context of the request, they found out: the conflict is associated with an imbalance. The husband says: “I work at work, and you sit at home, doing nothing.” And the wife at this time at home organizes and implements a complex multi-step system for organizing everyday life/school/kindergarten/clubs/shop, etc. The conceptual separation of these pairs of antonyms helps to notice and adequately evaluate one’s contribution, see other options for achieving the goal and maintain the balance of “taking - give.” What do you think about this? Do you notice how you use these words? Will you try to track it in life? It’s not for nothing that neurolinguists say: “the language of description shapes reality.” Let's take the first step towards shaping our reality. And I, in turn, am ready to help you with this! I am attentive to the client’s words, I like to scrupulously study, highlight and change the language of description so that life changes. You can sign up for a consultation in private messages..
