“We, adults, should remember that if we want to teach a child something or convey some important idea to him, we need to do it in a way that is recognizable, digestible and understandable. When communicating with children, try to speak to them in a language that they understand and to which they respond better - in the language of children’s fantasy and imagination.” D. Brett Fairy tales contrast good and evil, altruism and greed, courage and cowardice, mercy and cruelty, perseverance and cowardice. Listening to these stories and fairy tales, children unwittingly find echoes of their own lives in them. They strive to use the example of a positive hero in the fight against their fears and problems. Children are constantly faced with problems that do not exist in the “adult” world. Even if they do occur, our solutions are still useless for them. Explanations and instructions are not accepted, since this is not a method that children accept. As a result, children often come to the conclusion that adults do not understand them and cannot help them. Sometimes parents cannot find the right words to express their feelings or suggest the right actions. Immersing yourself in the world of fantasy and magic, which is easily accepted by a child, means speaking in a language understandable to children. Fantasy is the best way for children to analyze the world around them. This is where fairy tale stories, written specifically for children and focused on specific problems, can help. A fairy tale does not provide solutions to problems, there is no “healing” after reading and discussing a fairy tale. Rather, a certain story allows the child to focus on solving a problem and shows the possibility of overcoming a certain negative state. Each of these stories has a specific focus; it is a story about specific situations similar to those your child may find himself in. It also describes the feelings that arise in children when faced with problems. What do such stories give to children: The child gets the feeling that you understand him and are ready to help him. A child’s reaction to fairy tales may be the only way for him to “open” his soul to you, to tell you about his difficulties; As a result of working with “helping” stories, children develop a “self-help mechanism.” The main idea embedded in fairy tales is “in a difficult situation, you need to look for resources within yourself, which will lead to success”; Stories always show not one, but several options for resolving difficulties, they teach you the idea that there is always a way out, you just need to look carefully and look for it; In general, all fairy tales can be divided into these categories: Difficulties associated with communication; Feelings of inferiority, the experience of feeling different from everyone else. This also includes aggressive behavior, as a result of a feeling of one’s own insignificance, an attempt to prove to others and to oneself that this is not so; Fears and anxieties for a variety of reasons. It is important to note here that the emphasis is not on the object of fear, but on the child’s own feelings of how afraid he is. If fears are used for self-development, overcoming them, the child learns. If fear “slows down” development, concentrating the child’s attention on itself, external help is required; Problems associated with the specifics of age. Each age brings new difficulties to the child. A preschooler faces the problem of independence; a schoolchild has difficulties related to studying. The teenager tries to assert himself as an individual and find himself in society. Using fairy tales: The easiest way is to read aloud to your child. The content of the fairy tale is automatically approved by the parent and allowed for discussion. If the child is already over 12 years old and reacts skeptically to all “childish” situations, then the best way is to retell the fairy tales yourself, diluting your everyday communication with them. While reading a fairy tale, pay attention to the reaction and your baby's behavior. If there is no attention to the story, the child is constantly spinning, then the fairy tale.
