Today I read another everyday discussion on Facebook on the topic: to go or not to go to a psychologist. Among the arguments “against” were the following: there are a lot of articles, brochures, scientific and popular literature on psychological topics of interest - read and solve your problems yourself! The difference between a psychologist and a friend - both will listen, sympathize, they will give advice - why pay money for what you can get for free? Many difficulties can be resolved on your own, and going to a psychologist will make you dependent on him and not independent in making decisions. To understand the first two questions-statements, let’s take a few minutes, Let's forget about psychology and psychologists and turn to your past and current experience. I can say with confidence that most of you know what a splinter in the finger is. Just think, a piece of a foreign body that accidentally ended up under your skin, or deeper! But, despite the insignificance of the size of the splinter compared to the size of the body, you chose to remove it! When you were little, your parents or other adults helped you with this. If you remove a splinter from a finger with your right hand, not your left (for right-handed people, vice versa for left-handed people), it’s a piece of cake! It will hurt a little and go away. What if the splinter is on your right hand and you are right-handed? What if the splinter got stuck not in the finger, but, say, in the buttock (especially for those who like to look for adventures on the “fifth point”)? And here you can’t do without a mirror, or even without outside help, often qualified. With a splinter, everything is clear: the splinter was taken out - it hurt - it healed - I forgot - it doesn’t bother me in adult life. Have you tried to treat caries, banal caries, by talking with friends? No? Why? Surely they know what it is, how it hurts and what to do about it. Previously, they treated it this way, by charming the teeth. Did you get rid of appendicitis or hernias, for yourself or for your friends, based on articles or videos on the Internet? In vain, detailed information is there. Did your gastritis go away from sympathy and friendly support? What about back pain? What about bronchitis and pneumonia? Arthritis and tumors were cured with free advice in "grandmother's" newspapers? A piece of a tooth fell off - run to the dentist! The nail polish is peeling off - make an appointment with a nail service specialist. The tire was punctured - urgently go to the service station! The computer is covered - fly like a bullet to the programmer! The heel fell off - welcome to the shoemaker! Don’t rush to a friend or girlfriend, don’t solve the problem YOURSELF (with rare exceptions), although there are enough screwdrivers, glue, nail polishes, filling material and instructions for use. You are contacting the RELEVANT MASTER! And not FOR FREE, mind you. And, if the losses are much more serious: emotions have dulled or completely faded; they stopped understanding the meaning of life; a loved one abandoned him, became very ill, died; you cannot make a choice and remain in relationships that destroy you; suddenly the world became hostile and dangerous; your brains refuse to accept the gender you came into this world with; they began to get sick more often and the lion’s share of the funds was spent on tests and medications; after the event, they fell into depression; children and husband began to irritate, but before they made you happy... But you never know what happens and can happen to you - this is life! What to do then, who to contact? A SPECIALIST in helping with such issues is a PSYCHOLOGIST or PSYCHOTHERAPIST. An adult differs from a child in that he has a wide choice of self-help methods at his disposal. Therefore, going to a psychologist when there is a need is an adult thing to do! Paying money for services is like an adult! However, the choice is yours! Sometimes the material is so much more important than one’s own spiritual that one’s toenails are trusted only to a specialist, and problems of the soul and psyche are trusted to just anyone. Refutation of the third fear: - Dependence on a psychologist, which is so scary for potential clients, cannot be formed by him! Either you already have it, and you come to a psychologist with it, or you don’t. You may think you don't have codependency problems, but they may be hiding behind your beliefs.:+380679009474, +380934283606
