All people are infinitely, immeasurably valuable! But not everyone feels like that. One of the main reasons for this unfortunate situation is negative oppressive attitudes and beliefs that undermine the sense of self-worth. Negative beliefs do not destroy, but impair a person's ability to experience this feeling. When any upsetting event occurs, a huge number of thoughts rush through the head. And very often they flash so quickly that a person does not have time to track them, and there is no question of evaluating these thoughts. Negative thoughts do not have the best effect on our mood and state. Thinking errors that it is advisable to study in order to use knowledge as a tool in the future to form a healthier and more reasonable reaction to events, as well as to increase self-worth. Thinking error - obligation. A person translates the word want into must, must, must. He can make such demands not only on himself, but also on others, and the world in general. If a person makes these demands on himself (example): - I must like everything - I must not make mistakes - Everything must be under my control - I must succeed the first time - I must be the best in everything If a person makes these requirements for others (example): - People around me should be attentive, polite and tactful. - People around me should understand what is important to me - People around me should take care of people - People around me should take into account the interests of other people. If a person makes these demands on the whole world (example): - The world must be fair and honest - There must be cleanliness and order in the world. Essence: Having a clear idea of whether the person himself, his environment or the world around him as a whole should behave. Only this way and no other way. Lack of any alternative. A person interprets events and actions from the position of what should be (as it should be), and not as they actually are, in reality. A person views everything through the prism of “duty.” In most cases, reality does not coincide with a person’s expectations. Alternative options cease to be noticed and used. A person constantly experiences negativity due to non-fulfillment of expectations. The alternative is a wish. Bring back into your life the words “I want”, “I would like”, “I would like”, etc. This is a useful strategy that adds the right to choice and alternative decisions, and therefore the willingness to accept other options less painfully. Conduct an analysis: Does such thinking motivate you ?What are you guided by when you think this way? Who else lives by such standards? Are they happy? I will continue in the next article..
