Friends, colleagues, neighbors, residents of our city! Everyone knows why a battery is needed, but few people know that it should not be thrown away after it has used up its charge. And this is written on the battery. Most batteries contain lead, zinc, manganese, cadmium and mercury. In addition, each alkaline AA battery contains 8–10% alkali, which is considered its most dangerous component. As a result, each battery that gets into the environment pollutes 20 m2 of soil - this is an area that can be inhabited by two moles, one hedgehog, several thousand earthworms, as well as trees and running water. From groundwater, these metals enter rivers and lakes or into artesian waters used for drinking water supply. One of the most dangerous metals, mercury, can enter the human body either directly from water or by eating products made from poisoned plants or animals, since this metal tends to accumulate in the tissues of living organisms. Please don’t pretend that this doesn’t affect each of us, that everything will work out on its own and someone will take care of us! If each of us does not take responsibility for our lives, our actions and for the place in which we live, then we will all die out as a nation, as a species! Let's take care of ourselves, our children, our country and take several necessary actions to preserve the environment environment and our health! Do not throw batteries in the trash! Bring them to IKEA stores, as well as to all hypermarkets of electronics and equipment. The collected batteries will be transferred by the stores to one of the specialized collection points. At the end of last year, the first plant for recycling used batteries opened in Russia! It is located in Chelyabinsk, and, as stated, can process up to 2 wagons of batteries in 4 days. Now there is a place to transport collected batteries from all over the country. This is what a container for collecting batteries and energy-saving lamps looks like at IKEA. The only plant in Russia http://www.eco2eco.ru/pererabotka/battery/How can you help http://www.xn--80aaacnkyej1ders.xn--p1ai/ot_slov_k_delu.html
